"FUNKNROLL" the latest "club-banger" has been released from PRINCE. The song will be featured on "Art Official Age" and "PLECTREMELECTRUM" the debut album from 3RDEYEGIRL. Both albums will be released on 9/30.
The song has already been featured in NFL pre-game shows. Could that be where the video will world premiere? Hmm.
The Dallas Cowboys usually have the highest rated games on Sunday Night Football and will be playing the New Orleans Saints. Fact: Sunday Night Football is the most watched live event week after week with less DVR activity than any other TV show except for NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl. "New Girl" anyone?
When the song was being performed last year, we were sent the official lyrics from Paisley Park.
PRINCE will be releasing 2 new albums, "ART OFFICIAL AGE" and his album with 3RDEYEGIRL "PLECTRUMELECTRUM" on September 30th. Both albums will be released by Warner Bros. Records. You can also win a chance to see PRINCE perform at PAISLEY PARK in Minneapolis sometime in October.
You get one entry per-preorder for the Paisley Park Concert in October.
The announcement was made today on Good Morning America although the digital campaign started after midnight on the East Coast with iTunes providing a set list for both albums and WB rolling out the pre-order web sites.
The Paisley Park concert contest is for U.S. residents only.
Don't forget to watch the PRINCE show this Wed on "ART OFFICIAL AGE", "PLECTRUMELECTRUM" and more!

Diagnosis: Can someone bring a notepad n report for us please?
PRINCE has just released a teaser for the new song "This Could Be Us" which was inspired by a meme of Prince and Apollonia from his "Purple Rain era.
The teaser can be downloaded HERE. (updated link.)
Prince's vocals are still crisp and clear even in his falsetto.
Prince also invited The Current and Bobby Z. over to Paisley Park last night to hang out and hear new music.
You can read the Current article HERE.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Last night sounded fun. Coulda been us...but U were playin'.
Legendary music reviewer and interviewer Jon Bream was invited to Paisley Park late Saturday night in Minneapolis to listen to the new "untitled" PRINCE album. Jon Bream was handing Prince awards and accolades long before a majority of the world had a chance to. You could call Bream a Prince historian, so to speak.
Bream wrote about his experience he had late last night for the Star Tribune, also having to write a review for the Bruno Mars show he saw earlier in the night.
Bream talks about the phone call he got to be at Paisley Park around midnight to listen to the new record and how he is now on Prince time. Warner Bros executives unfortunately are not on Prince time and the music icon has had a hard time reaching them in regards to the new album and more than likely the 30th anniversary remastering of "Purple Rain" due for release sometime this year, right WB?
After 1 A.M., Bream was escorted into studio B at Paisley where the 3RDEYEGIRL members were along with their spouses including the producer of the new Prince record, Joshua Welton who Prince described as a rising producer. His tour manager and a Fox 9 reporter were there as well.
Dave Chappelle is doing a handful of shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York with guest musicians Nas, The Roots, Erkha Badu, and more and was on Fallon to promote it. Dave also talked about being the cover of a PRINCE single and meeting Kanye West.
Props to LV who designed the cover for having her image out there for millions to see.
Dave was funny how he said Prince pulled a judo move by using Dave impersonating Prince as the cover. Like what was he going to do. Kind of like Prince's interview with Nile Rodgers in Essence. Ha!
Chappelle's story of meeting Kanye for the first time makes me wish his show was still around. Check out the full clip above.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Prince still makes the "Hot Things" swang!
Lianna La Havas has been added as a special guest performer for PRINCE's night of the ESSENCE Festival taking place on July 4th, 2014. Janelle Monae and Nile Rodgers were announced as special guests previously.
Other than that, ESSENCE organizers say it is still a mystery as to what Prince will do at the festival.

In a new article Michelle Ebanks had this to say about what Prince will do;
"I think we'll have to see that night," Essence Communications president Michelle Ebanks, the executive who oversees the festival, said recently. "Prince is working through exactly how he's pulling (the night's roster) together. I don't want to say it's going to be one way, and then they make adjustments. They're still working out how the evening will unfold."
Essence thinks it is very likely that Janelle will do her own set on that stage that night.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Do we ever really know what Prince is up to? Don't U like surprises??
A few weeks ago, a certain celebrity web site was reporting that Lana Del Rey was paid $2 million dollars to perform 3 songs at Kanye West's wedding. I cried BS from the start as it would throw off how much artists are paid for private events like that. It would mean everyone who would perform at private events and charge would have to raise their rates if she was paid that much.
Lana publicly stated she performed for FREE and was not paid $2 million. Since her denial, there have been several articles released about "How Much It Costs To Book Your Favorite Band" and it is no surprise who tops the list.
The first list came a few weeks ago by The Huffington Post but it seemed to be incomplete and outdated. (Note: since the original article was published, Dengy has removed certain artists off the list that were listed before at surprisingly low amounts.) No way could you get One Direction for $150,000. Also according to their list provided by Degy Entertainment, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, James Taylor, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi all commanded over $750,000 per performance.
In a more updated list provided by Business Insider, there was one person who commanded more than any other artist:
Yes, to book the greatest live performer of all time, it will cost you $1.5 million to $2 million dollars. No word if that is for a few songs to be performed or for an entire show. This list is updated daily and requests can be made HERE.
Aerosmith, Arcade Fire, Bruno Mars, Billy Joel, Jay-Z, Rod Stewart, Miley Cyrus, and Pink all command $1 million to 1.5 million for events. Adele, Eminem, Carlos Santana, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, Pink Floyd, and Sting all command just under a million.
All of the artists listed in this article charge more for events outside the U.S.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Prince, who just completed a successful European Tour, is scheduled to perform next at The Essence Festival on the 4th of July. There will be fireworks galore from Prince & his band alone that night.
