New Years Eve Plans & Resolutions

Hello everyone.  So 2009 is about to be put to rest and this entire decade.  What are we calling this decade anyway?  What are we calling this upcoming one?  While I am asking questions…..

What do you have planned for New Years Eve this year?

What was your favorite New Years Eve experience in your life?

Did you ever have a New Years Eve hook-up that turned into something long-term?

If you are single, do you feel more pressure to go out for New Years Eve and do something?

I have had a few NYE experiences.  Back in the late 90’s, I did the whole partying on the streets of Las Vegas and the vibe was fun…until you tried to make the way back to your hotel.  Not so much fun.

A couple of times, I spent it with a girlfriend n her family.  Not really having a family, it was a cool experience in the sense of somewhat fitting in.

A few years ago, I was invited back to Las Vegas for New Years and saw Prince in his club 3121.  I was told he would take the stage shortly before midnight and no mention of New Years would happen.  He did just that and we partied til 5 in the morning regardless.  That was a fun night and the pressure of “hooking” up on New Years was taken off by his music, and perhaps for others, it made it easier to hook up.

Since you guys usually ask for my answers to questions I ask, I provided them this time.

I look forward to your answers and I  wish you a Happy New Year. 2010 baby!-Dr.FB

    1. No plans. Well, spending it in the sofa, watching movies. Did celebrate with livemusic the day before, and will see more music on saturday. So I took a break on the most crowded, crazy, drunk night of the year. Not a big loss, actually:)

    2. Don’t remember. Most of them have been nice:)

    3. Nope.

    4. Nope. I’m not that much single;)

Going to celebrate with my sister and my best friend, I am used to being single so holidays are not much different, I do wish for someone to kiss at Midnight each year but it never happens, I think I’ll steal a kiss this year

This New Year’s Eve I plan to spend with family and friends listening to music by Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire and finally The Emotions as we bring 2010 in.

    1) I have many, but one I will focus on, is to write more poetry and get my book published; the other is to get more into my painting. I love abstract art.

    2) My best NYE was ringing in the New Year of 2007 in the center of Times Square. with some friends who worked with the Times Square Allliance crew. I threw confetti from the windows every hour from 9pm to 11pm; then went downstairs with some friends who work with the Times Square Alliance crew, and waited in our VIP area, which was set off from the rest of the NY revelers, and rang in the New Year! It was awesome because I didn’t have to stand out in the cold with the rest of the crowd for hours waiting until 12:00am for the ball to drop, because my friends and I waited upstairs, then walked down at 11:50pm to see the ball drop with the rest of the screaming New Yorkers and tourists LOL..anyway it was awesome being among a crowd that was so hyped up, and ringing in the New Year with everyone. Especially when they played Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York!” once the Times Square ball dropped, that’s when it got sentimental for many……then after the hoopla was over, me and my friends, went back inside to a party for the staff and invited guests.

    3) Answer to #3.. NO….LOL!

    4) No, but I’m not exactly single either! LOL! But I don’t think there should be any more pressure for someone who is hooked-up or single to go out. I think most people are just happy a new year is coming in, and anxious about what it will bring, and hopefully always more positive than the year before.

Anyway, Happy New Years to you, Dr. Funkenberry…have a safe one and many blessings to you and your family for the coming year!

this year i’ll stay home with my 14 years old cat. is there any reason that the new years eve has to be different than other 364 nights? we may party every day every night. in any case i wish you happy and healthy 2010.

LOL…My invite to St Barts didn’t arrive 🙁
So I might have a game of twister or something civilized like that..
I think the best New Years Eve had to be the hazy type involving fireworks and dangerous sex – Vegas sounded too cool
Wishing you lotsa fun in 2010 X
