Conan O’Brien Gets $45 Million To Leave NBC

Conan O'Brein File Photo

It’s official!  Conan is out as “The Tonight Show” host. But he is not leaving empty handed.

Conan will get 33.5 million dollars and 12 million will go to his employees, the ones who had to move from New York to Los Angeles to do the show.

His executive producer gets a little under 5 million for himself.

Intellectual properties, such as Triumph, The insult dog and the masturbating bear, will not go with Conan as NBC is claiming it is owned by them.

Also, Conan cannot return to the air until September of this year.

Conan will get the 33.5 Million with no strings attached.  It was reported that if Conan was signed by another network, that would not have to pay him the full amount.  That is quite simply, not true.

A formal announcement will be made later today. Conan’s last night as Tonight Show host will be tomorrow night.

What do you think of Conan’s buyout?-Dr.FB

Not a bad deal, but he did get dicked in the end. He should have left with his Intellectual properties.

Cartoon Network is interested in him (I heard).

Wow, the saga has an ending. It’s sad that all of this is happening and shame on NBC for all of this crap. I’m glad Conan was able to get money for his staff. Maybe we’ll see Conan in Sept. We will see.

Conan O’Brien is going to be receiving a 33 million dollar settlement from NBC. That is definitely a heck of a ton of moolah to present a person to merely vanish entirely. I definitely will confess that I greatly likeJay Leno in that slot as opposed to the prime time slot, but I believe that Conan demonstrated a whole lot of character in battling to obtain that significant severence arrangement for his crew. I’m positive that he should land on his feet someplace different in no time. If he does not, at any rate the 33 million will soften the landing.
