Video: Jay Leno & Jimmy Fallon Poke Fun At Late Night War To Be

Jimmy Fallon & Jay Leno Photo: NYDailyNews.com

It appears that NBC didn't learn its lesson with Jay Leno from a few years ago; do not replace him on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon or anyone. It does not end well. For now, Fallon and Leno are taking things in stride.

Appearing in a skit together that takes place between when Leno throws to Fallon, the late night hosts put in a musical number where Jay knows he is being replaced but let's it be known he is not done. That he will go to Fox or even replace David Letterman if he has to, but he is not done.

Leno and Fallon are playing nice...for now. Jay will step aside in the fall of 2014 for Jimmy to take over the Tonight Show, which will move to New York in Fallon's Late Night studios at 30 Rock.

Remember Conan O'Brien? The Tonight Show was his...until NBC executives threw him off the show and replaces him with Jay Leno. the EXACT same executives, mind you, that NBC will be replacing Leno with Fallon this time around, even with Leno still number 1 in the ratings.

Conan has just signed a contract extension for his show with TBS until November 2015.

Leno has dominated in the ratings all year beating Letterman and Kimmel. Arsenio will return to late night with a feel of Fallon's show, stars and musical guests. Letting Arsenio stay and keeping Jay where he is at, will take away viewers from late night, but Leno would still be number 1. Moving Fallon will more than likely keep the Tonight Show number 1 without Leno and have higher ratings.

When your morning show is in shambles, when your prime time line-up except for The Voice is in the toilet, do you really mess with the only thing succeeding; your late night line-up? If your NBC, the answer is yes.-DocFB

Diagnosis: Leno to executives: NBC-ya..next Fall on another network!

A Year Before Arsenio Is Set To Return, The Late Night Wars Heat Up!

Arsenio Hall is a year away from his late night return. Jimmy Kimmel was fine with his time slot of 12:00 A.M, a half hour before Leno and Letterman battle it out, where Leno has remained supreme after the Conan debacle. Starting in January 2013, Kimmell will be moving to 11:35 P.M. where he will go head to head and chin with Jay Leno and David Letterman.

ABC is also trying to set up Jimmy Kimmel to host the Academy Awards after the Oscar's were wanting to get Jimmy Fallon to host the show. ABC actually got involved knowing what was at stake with Arsenio returning and Fallon eventually taking over "The Tonight Show" in a few years.

Leno has had attention on him this week for 20 people from his staff being forced to let go. If you believe Howard Stern however, Leno was trying to get rid of them and not look like the bad guy.

Leno and Kimmell have had a less than friendly rivalry. When Kimmel was entering the late night fray about 10 years ago, he said he got a call from Jay wishing him luck but "not understanding why they need another late night show." When Jay was set to leave "The Tonight Show" and be replaced by Conan, ABC let Kimmel know they were set to offer Jay the 11:35 time slot and move Kimmel back to 12:35. During a writers strike, Jay appeared on Kimmel and said "I'm just wondering if your desk looks better where it is or over there." confirming the talks ABC had with Jay.

When Jay moved to 10 P.M. for the ill-fated "The Jay Leno Show" Conan O'Brien did not understand his time would be limited as host of "The Tonight Show" unless he got kick-ass ratings. He didn't and NBC's "in case of emergency" landing of Jay at 10 p.m. instead of losing him to ABC worked. They cancelled Jay and gave Conan an ultimatum that forced him out of "The Tonight Show" and put Jay in. Letterman and Kimmell, who thought they were done with Jay came up with nightly Leno jokes until Oprah got involved.

Now with Arsenio Hall set to return to the late night wars of September 2013, and a surprising 85% of the nation already picking up the show in syndication, ABC felt it was the right time to move Kimmell into direct battle with Leno and Letterman. Kimmel is the only late night host where ratings have been up.

ABC knows Leno and Letterman are getting up there in age, and soon in a few years, it will be "The Arsenio Hall Show" versus "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" versus "The Jimmy Kimmel Show" in the battle for late night. It would be safe to see Conan taking over for Letterman when Letterman steps down at CBS as well.

There is no doubt in my mind that Arsenio will succeed. The person who may suffer in this is the person who has had the best guests, musical and otherwise on his show the past few years which is Jimmy Fallon. Fallon's fan base and mixture to guests rivals those of Arsenio back in his 90's heyday.

There are way too many late night show's who seem to have the same guests on during the week. Let's make no mistake about it; the reason for Kimmell moving to 11:35 is because of Arsenio's return and to get that audience used to tuning in at that time instead of midnight.

Expect a booking war for guests with Arsenio, Leno, and Kimmel all being in Los Angeles, which will benefit Fallon and Letterman.

Let the late night wars begin! Who will U be watching?-DocFB

It’s Official! Sharon Osbourne Quits “America’s Got Talent”

After a few weeks of stating she was leaving "America's Got Talent" Sharon Osbourne has made it official and stating the way NBC treated her son Jack who was diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis earlier this year.

Jack was in talks to star in the show "Stars Earn Stripes" and Sharon feels the network decided against Jack because of his illness.

Sharon stated on her reasons and the discipline she will receive for leaving "America's Got Talent";

“I just can’t be fake. It’s discrimination and it was badly handled.”

"All they can do is stop me from being a judge on another network for five years.

NBC is stating they never signed a contract with Jack and were just in talks.

It appears Sharon will finish out this season as judge on the reality show. Expect Howard Stern to bring it up on the show when it returns next week after the Olympics.-DocFB

Howard Stern Is New “America’s Got Talent” Judge

In what is sure to shock the PTC and others, Howard Stern made it official by announcing he is the new judge of "America's Got Talent" this morning.

Howard Stern replaces Piers Morgan and the show wanted Howard so bad, they are moving the entire show and other judges to New York so Howard does not interrupt his radio show, which is based in New York.

I am sure the NBC executives are extremely pleased.  NBC is struggling for a hit and the attention and controversy that will follow Howard and wondering what he will say next will entice people.

He is not as raunchy as he used to be and is a perfect choice for a judge.  Still, it is going to ruffle some feathers.

What do you think of the choice?-DocFB
