Prince performs at Grand Palais in Paris, Oct. 2009

Europe1.fr announced today that Prince will play a concert at the Citadel of Arras, France on July 9.

The press release mentions that this is one of the dates that Prince has scheduled for Europe this year. The other concerts will be in Belgium and Denmark with the Roskilde Festival just being announced as well.  Denmark date looks to be July 4 (still confirming); Belgium date is July 10th, Werchter Boutique.

Tickets go on sale April 27 for the Arras show; prices are listed at 84 EUR ($113 USD) or 124 EUR ($167 USD). Tickets for Belgium go on sale April 22.

Arras is a 2000 year-old city located in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of Frances. The Citadel where Prince will perform was built in the 17th century. He sure is keeping it interesting with this cool choice of venue. – Dr.FB

mmm dont waste your money until you get much more official confirmation from the local promoters and Princes team. he badly stung us in Ireland and hadn’t the decency to even comment owes the local promoter a lot of money and by all accounts despite a court case has still not coughed up. I am a Prince fan for many many years music is amazing the man is a crazy

The date looms closer and that “album” has yet to drop. No suprize there. He had been spending the past several years releasing older worn out crap. Maybe this one will go in Prince’s Piggy Bank.

Have you seen Prince lately? He looks like a deadman. Reminds me of something out of the bible or a zombie movie. I guess it’s his choice. Will he be well enough to play with no energy?

Official in the sense of press release sent out, tickets sold, and all that. American artists tend to drag their feet when it comes to officially promoting shows overseas. The only exception was when Prince held a press conference a few years ago to promote the 21 Nights In London Show. This is only a handful of shows compared to that.

There has been no confirmation and also no denial, which is usual protocol with American artists and shows overseas.

Hey Doc, how official is this information? People are worried that this might be another ‘Croke Park’

Oh, how I want to go, but don’t know how I can swing this one. Airfare, hotel, tickets, vacation time from work… If I could only win that lottery…

As someone on the Org said there wont be “member” tkts available thru the now dormant Lotusflow3r site, least not for Roskilde. U2 fans were bitching that they should have had a quantity of tkts set aside for them to purchase thru their official member site. Festivals don’t work like that. You can only buy thru the festival site page. Sorry for rambling on 🙂

Here’s a chance for Lotus Flow3r to redeem itself by offering it’s members some pre-sale tickets.

What’s he gonna play, the Vikings Superbowl theme? He has nothing to tour on other than his own greed and people’s obsessions. Oooops… Did I just say that out loud?

    Thanks for the info Doc!
