radio has been so watered down and copied for so long we don’t know good music anymore. the song shows the the musician ship he has . problem is we have all been beated with bad music and that is what we look for. music is not always reality and should not be . enjoy for what it is MUSIC TO MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD FOR A MOMENT. the rest is up to us and what we do after there is no
    music

Y doesnt someone assist with production and comment before this is released to prevent P’s brilliance being questioned …

Love the song, love the shirt, love the man. “Haters wanna hate lovers wanna love.” What can I say? Yeah ur proly right about masters who cares! they r HIS or were?.
He’s just weeding out ppl like u negative so/called fan/ms. Don’t come, don’t listen, don’t learn, don’t no body care or tryin to make u.” Those that can C it, r the ones who bevlieve it and put no fight.”
As 4 all the supposed womanizing, if that were true he would also be singing all ur old nasty favorites, and u would have ur old P back instead of this amazing beautiful artist who is grown, wise, soooo compassionate and generous you have no idea. It is weird how u HAVE to speculate thou and funny. Bria is a stunning beatiful sista, may she not read this nonsense.

@ MartinKember – Prince wasn’t singing about scripture in JW terms back then.

A reason, a HUGE reason you’ll NEVER hear remasters of his WB era work is because he’s a Jehovah Witness.

    Yes, I said it. Never.

    Think about it.

I love Prince. As a musician, he has been my biggest inspiration. I personally liked the wilder Prince that was singing about God and scripture one moment, and wanting to “F” the taste out of ur mouth on the next. But we all as fans have to remember that he is entitled to his personal growth and individual life journey. His lyrics now reflect who he has grown into. Who he is now is why he is still here on earth giving us his music. He is not drugged out, in rehab or even worse like some of the other superstars of the 80s 90s etc. Let’s appreciate him for being here still sharing his genius with us.
We love U PRN. Rest in peace MJ.

Sounds like a track “Baby Knows” off the Rave cd. I like the groove, but it didn’t take my breathe away. Prince can DO that, when he wants to. Still my hero!

Have been a fan since way back and love all is work up until the early 90’s…but this track…hmm although a good groove it’s a bit lacklustre and just ambles along, I find myself waiting for the hook..something that Prince is usually a master of…disappointing im afraid..I know he has better up his sleeve..come on Mr Nelson Bring it on!!

This song brings to mind, Under The Cherry Moon.
At first when listening to the snippet, I thought the lyrics were complimentary to people with “rich” character.
Now, I’m intrigued by the various scenarios noted in the song~press repeat~and again!
Thanks Prince for another musical adventure and thank you Doc for brining the funk to this site.
:scream: ‘cant wait for the Tour 2 begin.

I have to agree with several of you, I have been a fan of his music, his songs and his funk and soul for decades, but this is not up to his potential. He is more creative than this. The beat is fine, the music and funk is fine, but the lyrics are not only simplistic but really on the lame side. Maybe he doesn’t have much to prove anymore, but this is not legacy inspiring following some of the great work he has layed out there in the past. I am and always will be a fan of his past, but a fan of his present and future is still up in the air and it is falling, not rising.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it AGAIN: This is what happens when an artist has nothing left to prove. I love Prince always have, always will but I just wish he would really listen to what he is putting out these days. It’s just NOT quality material. ESPECIALLY from the artist of his creative caliber
