If some one wants to be updated with latest technologies therefore he must be pay a visit this website and be up to date every day.
Doc, Just as I thought. DNA sold out instantaneously and me without. People without... If you hear of an extra let me know. You don't happen to have Bobby, from Dream Factory", email do you. I lost touch with him a ways back. Tim
Doc, I think we met at 1999 show in Vegas. Also at Paisley. I've been a huge fan of P since Controversy came out. I was at DNA show in '93, all Celebrations, countless after shows but here is my concern. How does Prince plan on getting these very few tickets (small clubs) in to the hands of true fans and not those that want to experience the novelty or think it is "the" hot ticket to get? The same folks that asked Donna about the new song "Bambi". I think new fans are great but with so few tickets shouldn't be a little more quite about this tour? 3 people have emailed me saying "you going to see Prince". Thee are not Prince fans either. Is Prince worried about turn out? I'm all for creating a "buzz" but maybe the $500 a ticket will weed them out?
Tickets to Tempe, AZ Marquee Theater went on sale today. Happy to get a ticket. Wish I could go to more than one show. Going to early show on April 30. Was $250 plus service charge for total if $277.
Bring the noise to Detroit!!!!!!! That's "Detroit," as in Ford Field, not the Pallace of Auburn Hills (which is in a neigboring town).
Times have changed when it comes to staging concerts and tours and we can't always expect the artists we love to go on tour at bottom barrel prices as it's very, very costly and artists like Prince, his band and crew need to get paid. We can't expect the greatest living musician to always be available to perform on the cheap. Look at Madonna and The Eagles. Their top prices go for more than Prince tickets on this new tour. Bottom line, Prince is worth every penny as he always strives to put on the best performance possible even if the song selection from his vast catalog is restricted due to his religious beliefs, age and outlook. If Prince is charging 200 - 300 per ticket for this current tour, which is in smaller venues, by the way, he's got every right to and is doing so out of necessity due to the costs of touring rather than a disrespect to fans.
While it's cool Prince is coming around with his 3rd Eye Girl band, I'm hearing complaints of the $200 price tag. I wonder if Prince has ever considered partnering with a corporate sponsor to defray all the costs and pay Prince a sum as well so that the fans don't have to part with such a large amount of much needed $$$? I saw Prince 8 times when he did his 21 nights at The Forum a couple years back. EIGHT times at $25 a pop (including all surcharges and taxes). And, THOSE shows were with a much larger band and far more expensive production. Just think...for the EIGHT times I saw him at The Forum, it amounts to the same $$ I'd pay to see him ONCE on this new tour. I'm still amazed Prince was able to offer the Forum dates for so cheap. I'm going to count myself as blessed for having had the opportunity to see Prince as many times as I have in my life beginning in 1986 in Denver for his Parade tour with The Revolution and for me, personally, call it a day on seeing Prince live again. All the best to all who continue to go see him in a live setting. I'm content now to enjoy his music and videos past and present and future. Here's hoping he reaches back into the vaults and releases (like Michael Jackson did) ALL his music videos as well as archival concerts from the past til NOW. AND, I hope he films and releases a professional DVD and Documentary DVD of this new tour with 3rd Eye Girl. I think it would be in Prince's best interests to release all his visual videos and films while he is still alive so that he can reap the benefits rather than his estate doing so once he's gone.
Long live the funk, and long live Prince! If the Gods of Funk smile on me, I'll see you all at the DNA Lounge.
Oh wow I wish I still live in Vancouver, I'm in Toronto now. Hopefully, he'll do an East coast tour and stop by Toronto.
OMG Doc, thanks so much for all you do! I am SOOOOOOO freaking excited, Prince is coming back to Vancouver!
Thanks Doc .. fun interview despite the technical diff. Need prices and ticket info so we can start planning our budget! :)
