05 Feb BBC Radio Talks About PRINCE & 3RDEYEGIRL’s “Secret” London Gig!
PRINCE and 3RDEYEGIRL played a “secret gig” at the Electric Ballroom early Wednesday morning. Not really a secret if you follow DrFunkenberry on Twitter however.
There will be another show tonight as we reported earlier.
2 press conferences so far but no tour dates have been announced yet. Today appears to be the day. This time. For sure. Well….
Also, one of the people who got the heads up from us about the gig on the Facebook Fan Page had this to share:
The crowd were young and extremely excited and in awe.
It was surreal walking in from the rain and seeing the most amazing sight. Prince bathed in blue light and smoke performing “I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man”.
He looked awesome! Black funky outfit with gold chains.
Same with the girls.
I’ve been to over 20 prince shows, this was the best.
He was so relaxed and really engaged the crowd who were delirious.
During “I Like It There” Prince grabbed Ida’s bass and rocked a solo.
The sound was perfect in the venue. Donna played behind her head and Hannah and Ida kept the groove in the pocket.
The last track was “Cause & Effect”. Huge crowd participation with Prince leading the crowd and playing beautiful melodies then shredding wild blues!!!
He came on with girls to say goodbye with the most pimp cane this side of huggy bear!
Whenever you see Prince’s world this close up you just forget your worries and bathe in his glow.
When I first walked to hear that solo I just burst into tears . An emotional night ….-Mako Bones
Thanks Mako for sharing that. Mad Love to Kiran Sharma for getting the fans in and helping Channel 4 gain access to the Electric Ballroom. They were trying to cover the event all day and reached out to me early in the morning in Los Angeles..Mad Love to Lianne La Havas as well for letting us know that the press conference was still on at her flat when a source went silent. Much appreciated and we owe you one.-DocFB
Diagnosis: The most pimp cane this side of huggy bear. That’s what’s up!
