Dr. Conrad Murray was sentenced to 4 years in prison for the death of Michael Jackson. Murray's time will be spent in L.A. County Jail.
The judge appeared often upset and brought up a documentary that Murray shot with MSNBC where Murray said Michael's death lies with Michael not him.
Murray will also have to pay "appropriate restitution" to the Jackson Estate and Michael's kids at a later date. The prosecution is hoping for a $100 million dollars, but no amount was set yet. They were also hoping for money from Murray to pay for the almost $2 million funeral costs for Michael.
Michael's family released a statement to the court before sentencing:
"We are not here to seek revenge. There is nothing you can do here today that will bring Michael back." "We respectfully request you impose a sentence that reminds physicians they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder."
Murray could only get a maximum of 4 years in prison, but we ask, did the punishment fit the crime?-DocFB
Diagnosis: Not enough time or just right?
The jury reached a verdict in the Conrad Murray Michael Jackson trial and it was tense to say the least as Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
The verdict was reached earlier in the morning and read after 1 p.m. Conrad Murray looked scared as anyone would have been.
Mrs. Benson, the court clerk read the guilty verdict.
Conrad Murray will be sentenced November 29th.
Murray was remanded on the spot without bail and will appear in court on November 29th, 2011.
What do you think of the verdict?-DocFB
Diagnosis: Justice for MJ....?
This is some united front. Despite claims that Michael Jackson was killed by Katherine Jackson's neglect by her estranged husband and cheapskate basket-case, Joe Jackson, they arrived together in the courthouse for the hearing of Dr. Conrad Murray's license being revoked.
Even after death, Katherine is trying to do right by Michael and remain united with her dumb-ass husband Joe.
The Jackson family sometimes just not only takes the cake, but the box it came in as well.
Just once, I want to see Katherine smack some sense into Joe. I hope I am not alone in this elderly abuse wish.-Dr.FB
The Jackson family will be there today when Dr. Conrad Murray's trial begins. Who else will be there? Some of the most die hard MJ fans who will be protesting Conrad Murray outside of the court house.
There will be at least 15 Jackson family members there and hundreds of fans as movement started on facebook to go to the courthouse and protest.
We may not be there live but do expect a full report later today.-Dr.FB
I am starting to think I am more of a real doctor, than Dr. Conrad Murray is or ever was.
So reports are coming out that Murray hid the drug Propofol in a secret compartment in the closet. This claim is made by Alberto Alvarez now, but did not say this when he was first being questioned about Michael Jackson's death.
The one thing that is for sure is that Dr. Conrad Murray told police where he could find the bottles 2 days after MJ's death.
The biggest claim is that Dr. Conrad Murray stopped administering CPR to Michael to hide the drugs. All this taking place as Prince Michael III and Paris walked in the room to see their father getting mouth to mouth from Dr. Conrad Murray.
Dr. Conrad's Murray's people are saying he did not hide anything. We really can't believe anything he says anyway though, can we?-Dr.FB
Dr. Conrad Murray was charged with involentary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.
TMZ got a hold of the coroner's report that led to Murray being charged. Here is what led to the coroner's decision;
1. Circumstances indicate the Propofol and the benzodiazepines were administered by another.
2. Propofol was administered in a non-hospital setting without any appropriate medical indication.
3. The standard of care for administering Propofol was not met. Recommended equipment for patient monitoring, precision dosing and resuscitation was not present.
4. The circumstances do not support self-administration of Propofol.
Jessica Mathis, who was on scene had this to say about Murray being arrested and being there.
Being at Dr. Conrad Murray's indictment was a nightmare all over again reliving the fact that Michael is gone. I arrived late and didn't get to see him walk into the courthouse but a MJ friend of mine told me that they chanted "Murderer" as he walked in and that he definitely heard them, contrary to the media reporting people chanted "justice for Michael."
We waited for almost 2 hours before the Jackson family left, all of the family snuck out through the back of the courthouse, while Randy Jackson walked out alone in front of the entire media and fans to his one black car. The fans yelled, "Love you Randy!" and he waved slightly acknowledging them as he got into the car.
The media poked around and interviewed fans, waiting for Murray to walk out. But Murray was a sly snake, somehow he managed to slip away into some unknown vehicle and already was gone before all of us knew it, while the car he arrived in stayed and then left empty as a decoy
Fans screamed outraged, "Why the celebrity treatment for this man?!" He had his own special getaway vehicle somehow provided by the police. Why was that happening? All I can say is that's wrong, he should of faced the media and fans, but he's a coward. Too scared to show the world what he really is, a liar, and a murderer.
I thank Jessica for sharing that with us. What do you think of Conrad Murray finally being charged?-Dr.FB
