The American Music Awards was the best AMA’s in about 10 years. A majority of the stars were on hand except for Beyonce and Taylor Swift.  A couple years ago, almost every award winner was not there. Another year, the biggest act performing was the return of Motley Crue.

Lady Gaga did not disappoint but left the show empty-handed.  Will the Grammys get it right?  Kelly Clarkson belted out a tune. Carrie Underwood proclaimed her love for her “Cowboy Casanova” with a bevy of back-up dancers.  Janet Jackson went through a medley of her hits surrounded by her new song “Make Me” and an outfit that did not complement her, but did not provide a Super Bowl moment.

A few random notes:

-Was Taylor Swift really in London via satellite or was it to make sure she would not be interrupted by Kanye? (I kid. I kid.)

-Why is no one talking about Green Day’s solid performance?

-How hot was Sofia Vergara?

-Adam Lambert.  Wow or Ouch?

-Did you notice there was no host?

-Good job by American Music Award producers for editing Jennifer Lopez’s performance of a forgettable song by taking out her fall during her performance.  By doing that, you brought attention to it, and provided a moment for us bloggers.

I had a problem with Michael Jackson being nominated for so many awards and winning.  It was based on his older CD’s selling after his death.  It just wasn’t fair for other artists to compete with that.  Thankfully, it is no longer whoever sells more wins, because the only artist to sell more than MJ this year was Taylor Swift. 

At the same time, by not doing a tribute, it cut down on Jermaine’s speech.

Kelly Clarkson killed it at the American Music Awards by actually singing and belting out her song “Already Gone” and I loved it. The original American Idol brought it.

Kelly is looking healthy and I am digging that she really got into her performance and brought you into it.

Here is the video from Orianthi’s “According To You” and you all know I really like the song. I am surprised this song is not blowing up everywhere because it has that Kelly Clarkson Americana style to it.

She is currently featured in Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” as she was to play with him before his untimely death.

The woman has played with Joe Satriani and Carlos Santana. Shoot, she even played in Prince’s living room at his famous 3121 parties.

Straight up, I like the her and if you give her a chance, I am sure you will too.  Let me know what you think of the video.-Dr.FB

“According To You” is the new song by Orianthi and it is kind of hot.

It sounds like something Kelly Clarkson used to do before she started taking herself too seriously. I like it! We hope to the have the interview up by C.T. with Orianthi soon.

Paula Abdul File Photo

Paula Abdul will be the host of VH-1’s Diva’s concert. The event will take place on September 17th.

The musical performers and honorees will be Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus.

There still appears to be no talks with American Idol and Paula on returning to the show.

I’m loving Kelly’s sense of humor.  She is a true gem.

Kelly Clarkson, the first American Idol winner, will be a guest judge on the show. She told the USA Today that she is very excited to be on the show.

This news follows a slew of guest host announcements such as Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, and Joe Jonas.

The Kelly Clarkson one is cool to me since she was someone who had to go through the whole process in order to win American Idol.
