Internationally-acclaimed Motown recording artist, KEM, is celebrating his third career GRAMMY® nomination.
KEM is nominated in the Best Traditional R&B Performance category for the song “Nobody” from his fourth studio album, PROMISE TO LOVE (August 2014). The 57th GRAMMY® Awards will broadcast live on CBS on February 8, 2015.
News of the GRAMMY® nomination and announcement of the Forever Charlie Tour come on the heels of KEM’s sold-out 8-city Promise to Love Tour – Pt. 1 in November. KEM will join the legendary Charlie Wilson on his Forever Charlie Tour along with R&B favorite, Joe. The 27-city U.S. tour kicks off on February 12, 2015 in Cleveland, Ohio, with tickets going on sale December 12, 2014.-DocFB
KEM promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for audiences, which will include his classic hits such as “Love Calls,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Share My Life” along with new favorites from ‘PROMISE TO LOVE,’ including the dynamic lead single, “It’s You,” which spent five weeks at #1 and is now at #8 on UAC charts, the second single, “Nobody,” which currently resides at #4 on the chart, along with the CD’s title track, “Promise To Love.”
Taylor Berrett will be releasing his debut album, Great Falls, on March 10, 2015. The album embodies songwriting at its finest, with great artists like Paul Simon and Billy Joel as inspiration and Taylor's uniquely fun, uplifting, and poignant style at the heart.
The 22 year old from Virginia has always loved songs, and realized at an early age that he was desperate to follow in the footsteps of songwriters such as Stevie Wonder, the Elton John/Bernie Taupin team, and Chris Martin. As a teenager, Taylor was signed to the production company of SRP with Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers (best known for signing and developing Rihanna). From there, he further developed his craft and was led to iconic songwriter Kara Dioguardi. Kara signed Taylor to her publishing company and brought him to Warner Bros. Records, bringing it full circle at the home of many classic artists, including Taylor's favorite, Paul Simon.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Berrett was signed to a contract after one showcase performance.
Well it appeared too good to be true and now it is.
Bono is still suffering from injuries he obtained in a bicycle accident last month in New York City and The Edge of U2 confirmed they will no longer be performing at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles this month.
“He managed to come out of it with what you can only describe as injuries from a car crash, literally multiple fractures of bones in his elbow and his back. But he’s doing OK. We’re kind of lucky he was wearing a helmet, so he didn’t actually break Central Park. He’s made of tough stuff and he’s bouncing back.”
“He’s so upset about the fact that unfortunately as we’re about to announce, we’re not going to be able to do the Acoustic Christmas. He’s been told by his doctors to stay put. He’s back in Dublin right now and he basically can’t move for the next couple of months.”
“The poor guy, basically his left elbow was shattered, so a lot of the work was reconstructing the joints and putting in wires and plates. He actually showed us some x-rays a couple days later, it looked like a miniature Eiffel Tower.”-The Edge of U2
The Edge then announced U2's upcoming tour.
Legendary guitarist Johnny Marr (formerly of The Smiths) released his new music video for "Dynamo."
The track is off Marr's acclaimed sophomore solo album Playland, which Rolling Stone boasts is "filled with wicked guitar salvos and shiny, barbed hooks..." and Q Magazine adds, "'Playland' is better than its predecessor in pretty much every respect. The songs are better, the palette broader and there's a genuine sense of Marr hitting his stride as a solo artist."
'Playland' is Marr's second solo effort and the follow up to last year's critically acclaimed (included the honor of being named as NME's Godlike Genius) Top 10 debut album 'The Messenger.' Work on the album commenced in London in spring 2014 as soon as the year of touring in support of 'The Messenger' came to a close. It finds Marr continuing the creative connection that was forged on 'The Messenger' with collaborator and co-producer Doviak.-DocFB
