Elevate Oakland raised just over $110,000 through fundraising efforts and the inaugural benefit concert, which was presented by Oakland’s own Sheila E. and held at The Fox Theatre in Oakland this past last weekend.
Funds raised through this event will go to support art and music education programs in Oakland’s public schools where no art or music curriculum is offered and will continue to support the current programs in need at schools like Castlemont High School.
“We are truly grateful for the success of Elevate Oakland’s first benefit concert. The generosity of the artists who donated their performances and time is absolutely amazing. The support of the community, the teachers, all of our sponsors and the dedication of all our volunteers is what made this event such a success,” in a joint-statement issued by Elevate Oakland’s co-founders Sheila E., Jason Hofmann, Lynn Mabry and Yoshi Akiba, “We definitely plan to make this an annual event and are already planning the next one.”
Bristol Palin was really good on Dancing With The Stars. Well....better than she has been.
She rocked out to our girl Orianthi's "According To You" and brought it with the purple.
Looks like she will be safe another week. Check out her performance above.-Dr.FB
Now, if I do say so myself, this version of "Lost Without You" is awesome.
Robin Thicke brought Orianthi to play guitar on it and the version became elevated as Robin stayed his playful self but brought her in for the fun.
Check out this EXCLUSIVE HD version of the performance of "Lost Without You" and let me know what you think.-Dr.FB
Although The Hard Rock Cafe opened up at Hollywood & Highland back in July, it did not have it's "Grand Opening" til last night.
We were fortunate enough to be there. One of DrFunkenberry.com's 1st ever sit down interviews was Orianthi before she blew up.
Last night, she performed an acoustic set that included her first hit "According To You" and we wanted to share it with you.
Check it out the HD video footage above and let me know what you think.-Dr.FB
Adam Lambert brought the Glam Nation tour to Nashville, Tennessee last night and rocked the Ryman auditorium that had the crowd on a kick from the start.
While other tours are having to cancel dates or playing to less than full houses, Adam Lambert's Glam Nation tour with Orianthi opening has been a major, major success.
Who says you can't headline a tour with 1 CD? Keep on glamming it up Adam along with the Glam Nation.-Dr.FB
Straight from the Glamnation tour with Orianthi, Adam Lambert performed "Whataya Want From Me" at the Much Music Video Awards.
He is still sporting his newly half-shaved head. Also, Adam won Best International Male Video, which was voted on by the fans. Congrats to Adam and enjoy the performance above.-Dr.FB
Here is "Shut Up & Kiss Me", the new video from Orianthi.
She is going out on tour with Adam Lambert and her CD will be re-released on June 8th as "Believe II" and I believe this will actually be the 3rd re-release.
What do you think of the new song and video?-Dr.FB
Adam Lambert was on Ellen yesterday for an interview and performance of "If I Had You" which is his latest single.
Adam is about to start his tour with Orianthi as his opening act. Check out the clip above n let me know what you think.-Dr.FB
Kris Allen opened for Lady Antebellum on Friday night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. He did help Lady Antebellum close the show by performing "Hey Jude" by the Beatles.
Kri's fly was down for the performance but you do not really notice til after the 3 minute mark and someone from the audience let's Kris know and he zips it up rather quick with an interesting look on his face.
Just one question; why is Kris opening for anyone? Adam Lambert is about to start a tour with Orianthi opening for him. Kris wins the contest but who was mentoring American Idol last week? Adam Lambert.
I guess America may have voted Kris their "Idol" but the judges and producers obviously wanted Adam. Guess it is better to not win the contest, isn't it?-Dr.FB
