The Green Day show at Madison Square Garden tonight was off the chain! The Kaiser Chiefs got the crowd ready to rock and Green Day finished us off.
There was hilarious banter in between each song, and lead singer Billy Joe Armstrong let audience members have their 15 seconds of fame by letting them sing on stage and even play guitar on selected songs. The highlight of the night was a rousing rendition of "Shout" (Otis Day and the Nights, anyone?) that had bits of "Earth Angel," "I'll Be There" and "If They Could See Me Now."
They also did all the hits and more: Longview, When I Come Around, Jesus Of Suburbia, Hitchin A Ride, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and American Idiot.
