Ellen Degeneres, who is replacing Paula Abdul on this season of “American Idol” made a statement on “the Ellen Degeneres Show” about Simon leaving the show after this season, which is Ellen’s first.

She was fair and made a crack on Simon at the end.

    I was not at all surprised by Simon leaving…I really don’t think he is fond of Ellen.

    That was great and funny too. At first I wasn’t happy with Ellen being chosen as a judge for AI but now I’m willing to give her a chance. I read in this weeks EW that her first episode is on Feb 9th and I am looking forward to how she does as a judge. Ellen’s a class act.
