Black Gypsy is Shelby Johnson’s band that she has had for some years now.

I really love Shelby’s voice and every member in Blackgypsy is talented, but I really feel like the group had trouble giving themselves an identity. This album really sounds like a lot of what is available on VH1 Soul… I wish the best for the group and hopefully they’ll have a fully developed sound by the time Vol. 2 hits! I also cannot wait for Shelby’s upcoming solo album!
