i hate it also because every time i hear the chords in the chorus i think of HOT BLOODED by Foreigner, which is a wayyy better song…i’m just sayin’
Prince, u are way more talented than the “elders” (Larry Graham) would allow u 2 be!! Y waste the years u have left making mediocre material?? if u’ve run out of earth shattering ideas, start remastering those “vault” songs and put them out.. unedited(thankuverymuch)!!
Otherwise, please emancipate yourself from those JW CHAINS and MR.GRAHAM(the man behind the curtain) and get back to making something the world just has to have.. WILL I AM, TIMBALAND, THE ROOTS and so many more artists site u as their inspiration, yet they are all out classing and out performing u.
with MJJ gone (REST IN PEACE,KING) U should be making the music that everyone needs right now.. no auto tone, no b.s. rapping, no bling bling. just a hot album like u used to be able to do at the drop of a hat!! where are those 3 and 4 albums a year u said Warner wouldn’t let u put out??

He’s on the lighter side of musicality these days and I really, really, really, really think it would inject some deeper, soulful, full instrumentated stylizations into Prince’s music if he were to have an outside producer produce him for ONCE. Who I’d love to see produce him and a full album would be none other than Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Bring in all their old and new synths, a real band, some strings and make a complex, funky, soulful and FULL sounding bunch of songs. With Jam & Lewis’ ears in the mix, it would lift Prince’s songs up to the next level.

I Would Love an Album of that material.

Tamborine with snare? He did that on Cinnamon Girl and that sucked. That was 2004/5, its 2010, same shit. Its starting to “sound” as if Prince is doing a Lenny Kravitz – doing the same old crap over and over and over and over again.
No, its not my summer song. No it does not instantly make me happy and all summery. Its lame and Scriptur-y. A perfect make-believe Jehovah Witness song to make his elders or whatever …happy.
