Fresh off of playing “Purple Rain” with PRINCE & 3rdEyeGirl on Saturday, former “Revolution” member Bobby Z. joined us on spreecast with myself & Seth Everett. That’s not all. Andre Cymone joined us as well to talk about the early days of PRINCE and the Minneapolis Sound!
Bobby shared his experience of playing with PRINCE again and we had Andre on to talk about his song “My Best Friend” dedicated to his mother Bernadette Anderson.
Bobby went to say how much Mrs. Anderson meant to everyone and then the stories of the infamous basement and rehearsal jams started. Epic.

Posted at 13:36h, 30 MayI’m still SPEECHLESS from last night I’ve dreamt about this for quite some time ever since I was about the tender age of 5 years old and it felt SO SURREAL 2 experience the Legendary Drummer from the Revolution Bobby Z and then up pops Andre Cymone sharing tid bits and stories of the past as if we ALL were transported back in time to the feeling and growing up in MPLS it felt so AMAZING that I’m still GRINNING about it. Now the PURPLE GENERATION truly can say we were in the World of Bobby Z and Andre Cymone. Way 2 GO DOC and SETH so Honored to share this experience with ALL of my PURPLE PEEPZ. 😉 <3
