PRINCE Releases Classic “1999″ Rehearsal Track!

3RDEYEGIRL Something In The Water Artwork By Stella Blu

PRINCE has released a rehearsal version of "Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)" from the "1999" album. Will Livestream's return that will feature rehearsal's like that?

The Artwork is by Stella Blu.  OK Player, that is BLU. Thx.

Above is a wimpy mp3 version of "Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)" but you can buy a powerful wav version of the song HERE. It is only .88 cents for 7 minutes of funk!

Also, a new title for the 3RDEYEGIRL livestream has been created, aptly titled "NOVEMBER NOUVEAX" and was created yesterday. So far, no activity, although it might be worth keeping an eye on. Perhaps they changed it since the last title had "October" in it.

What is for certain is there will be a PRINCE Spreecast tomorrow, November 5th! So tune in for that!-DocFB

Diagnosis: That 7 minutes of "Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)" is amazing.  Make sure to download it HERE.

Late Night Snax! PRINCE Puts Out “Bambi” Live Video + More!

PRINCE-GROOVY_POTENTIAL_large

Late night last night, PRINCE thru the 3rdEyeGirl Twitter account put out a live version of "Bambi" from his recent show in Portugal.

It is not the full clip and there have been longer "Bambi" clips released earlier this year but judging from YouTube comments, that really doesn't matter.

We had The Twinz on last week's Prince Spreecast. They worked on Prince's latest video "Breakfast Can Wait"...but could not talk about the video yet. It was an interesting interview nonetheless where we talked about their Superbowl performance with Prince, The Brit Awards, Saturday Night Live, and how they were "discovered" by Prince.

We will have a Prince Spreecast today and hope to have something for U.  The NPG Hornz are heading to Paisley Park...so maybe...hopefully?-DocFB

Diagnosis:  Some women's Lovers do look like them tho....

The NPG’s Liv Warfield Releases 2 New Songs! Guesting On Spreecast!

Liv Warfield Singles Promo Photo

Liv Warfield of the NPG has released 2 new songs "Why Do U Lie?" and "Catch Me If U Can" from her album "The Unexpected" due in January 2014.

The songs are available on iTunes and Amazon.com

We are also honored that Liv will be a guest on the Prince Spreecast to talk about the new songs, her new album and working with Prince and the New Power Generation.

Liv is a member of the New Power Generation, Prince's band and is honored to have the support of Prince who will be working with Liv to create an album that will be timeless.

Liv describes her musical style as "Alternative R&B Soul with a little bit of rock & roll" and we could not disagree.

Essence.com was the first to debut Liv's new songs and she had this to say about the songs and the album exclusively to DrFunkenberry.com

"I couldn't be more excited about Essence.com premiering my two new singles off my upcoming album "The Unexpected"!    I have learned so much as an artist by having the honor of working with an Icon like, Prince.

These records include my band members Ryan Waters, Tyrone Hendrix, Chris Turner, Saeeda Wright, Ashley Seamster and Eric "Pik Funk" Smith.  I was also able to include some of my fellow bandmates from the NPG hornZ section, Roy Agee, Sly Onyageeaka, Keith and Phil Lassiter.   Elisa Fiorillo and Marcus Anderson were very instrumental in the development of "Catch Me If You Can".

Prince encourages us working together and who wouldn't want to work with the amazing musicians.  I look forward to making more good music with members of NPG, as well as working with Prince on my album."

In addition to touring with Prince, she also has been doing her own solo shows backed by the New Power Generation.

The upcoming album will feature hard-hitting vocals like the lead singles but Liv will definitely not disappoint with her powerful ballads.

The album is sure to be “The Unexpected”. Liv Warfield’s hard-hitting vocals and electric performances have been compared to the likes of the iconic Tina Turner.

Again, make sure to join us on the Prince Spreecast as Liv will be our special guest and will be answering your questions.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to support real artists like Liv. Not only is she an amazing singer but also one of the nicest souls you will ever meet.-DocFB

Diagnosis: If you are gonna take $20.00 out of someone's purse, make sure it is to buy these new songs from Liv!

PRINCE Spreecast Image By LV

We had Luke James and Elisa from the NPG on the PRINCE spreecast this week and it was a great show!

Luke talked about playing with Prince at the City Winery and also touring with Beyonce and about a new movie he is in coming soon with Forest Whitaker!  He also sang some songs and forgot his shirt...and it seems people did not seem to mind!

Elisa was a sweetheart as always as we discussed the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival show from last weekend. Elisa also sang a few notes for us from "Love Machine" and "Daddy Pop" and Doc took it way back to talk about her appearance on Arsenio Hall.

PRINCE Spreecast Recap; Questlove, A Panel, & “The Beautiful Ones”

Questlove Photo: USAToday.com

In the latest PRINCE spreecast, we thought we had an episode of "Seinfeld" on our hands, a show about nothing. But in little to no time, that changed!

In a discussion I had with Prince earlier this month at Paisley Park studios, Prince talked about Touré's book on him and said that he took one conversation he had with him (Back in 1998) and turned it into a book. "Touré didn't like me the time we talked."

Seth, Doc, Bobby Z, & Andre Cymone Screencap: Baron

Fresh off of playing "Purple Rain" with PRINCE & 3rdEyeGirl on Saturday, former "Revolution" member Bobby Z. joined us on spreecast with myself & Seth Everett. That's not all. Andre Cymone joined us as well to talk about the early days of PRINCE and the Minneapolis Sound!

Bobby shared his experience of playing with PRINCE again and we had Andre on to talk about his song "My Best Friend" dedicated to his mother Bernadette Anderson.

Bobby went to say how much Mrs. Anderson meant to everyone and then the stories of the infamous basement and rehearsal jams started. Epic.

Make sure to catch all the action above!

We want to thank Bobby Z., Andre, U, and PRINCE for this amazing show.-DocFB
