The Bots

Today, LA duo The Bots join a stellar lineup of bands performing from their beds and hotel rooms as a show of solidarity for the thousands of sick kids around the U.S. who will spend the holiday season in their hospital beds as part of Bedstock.

The Bots perform a stripped-down acoustic version of their song "No One Knows" from a hospital bed in Portland, Oregon last month.

Other artists performing for Bedstock include: Chromeo, Mark Foster, Madison Beer, Raury, Langhorne Slim, Shakey Graves, and more.-DocFB

Diagnosis: Bedstock coincides with Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back after the mass consumption of Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Bedstock supports MyMusicRx, a free-of-charge program that infuses the hospital environment with live music and offers seriously ill kids and teens 24/7 access to digital instruments, music lessons, games, concerts and personal artist greetings at www.mymusicrx.org.

Chris Rock

PRINCE's first appearance on Saturday Night Live since 2006 will feature an 8 minute jam instead of doing 2 performances on the show.

Here is the press release for the announcement below:

The first television performance from Prince since the release of his two chart-topping albums, ART OFFICIAL AGE and PLECTRUMELECTRUM, on September 30 is not only going to be live, it will make history.

The music icon's return to the SNL stage on November 1 - his first since February 4, 2006 - will be a rousing eight-minute long jam session with no commercial interruption. The party will feature Prince along with his all-female band 3RDEYEGIRL (guitarist Donna Grantis, bassist Ida Nielsen, and drummer Hannah Ford Welton).
In the 40-year history of SNL, most performances have been broken up into two segments, often at midnight and one just before the 90-minute classic sketch comedy show ends. But Prince, known for his spontaneous and electrifying three-hour concerts in venues both massive and intimate, will perform his set in the middle of the show with no closing encore. It's anyone guess what the songs will be, but undeniable that it will be an incendiary and history making performance.

Host Chris Rock's singular request was for Prince to be the musical guest for his return to SNL as host after 18 years. It is the second time he will host the show. The two made the announcement via a press release on October 14 with a photo of Rock dressed as Prince from the film Grown Ups 2.

Also don't miss the PRINCE Spreecast this week where we will discuss PRINCE's greatest TV performances. It will air Wednesday night.

ART OFFICIAL AGE, Prince's solo album, bowed in at #1 on Billboard's R&B Chart while PLECTRUMELECTRUM, featuring Prince's new band 3RDEYEGIRL, debuted at #1 on the Rock Chart, making Prince the first artist in over a decade to debut two albums in the Top 10 at the same time.-DocFB

Diagnosis: A historic Performance!

At Your Best: Andy Allo Covers Aaliyah!

Andy Allo Photo: WireImage.com

Friend of the site Andy Allo did a really cool acoustic cover of "At Your Best" by Aaliyah!

We know that the Isly Brothers did it first but a generation found the song through Aaliyah and even Adny credited it as an Aaliyah cover.

Andy is currently in Japan doing a handful of shows and will be back in California by the end of the month for a show in her hometown of Sacramento.

Check tour dates HERE.-DocFB

Diagnosis: One has to wonder how the Pop/R&B game would be if Aaliyah was still alive. Yes, Beyonce, I am looking at you my dear.

Want To Book Your Favorite Band? PRINCE Tops List At $2 Million!

PRINCE-Paris Photo: NPG RECORDS 2014

A few weeks ago, a certain celebrity web site was reporting that Lana Del Rey was paid $2 million dollars to perform 3 songs at Kanye West's wedding. I cried BS from the start as it would throw off how much artists are paid for private events like that. It would mean everyone who would perform at private events and charge would have to raise their rates if she was paid that much.

Lana publicly stated she performed for FREE and was not paid $2 million. Since her denial, there have been several articles released about "How Much It Costs To Book Your Favorite Band" and it is no surprise who tops the list.

The first list came a few weeks ago by The Huffington Post but it seemed to be incomplete and outdated.  (Note: since the original article was published, Dengy has removed certain artists off the list that were listed before at surprisingly low amounts.) No way could you get One Direction for $150,000. Also according to their list provided by Degy Entertainment, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, James Taylor, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi all commanded over $750,000 per performance.

In a more updated list provided by Business Insider, there was one person who commanded more than any other artist:

Yes, to book the greatest live performer of all time, it will cost you $1.5 million to $2 million dollars. No word if that is for a few songs to be performed or for an entire show.  This list is updated daily and requests can be made HERE.

Aerosmith, Arcade Fire, Bruno Mars, Billy Joel, Jay-Z, Rod Stewart, Miley Cyrus, and Pink all command $1 million to 1.5 million for events. Adele, Eminem, Carlos Santana, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, Pink Floyd, and Sting all command just under a million.

All of the artists listed in this article charge more for events outside the U.S.-DocFB

Diagnosis: Prince, who just completed a successful European Tour, is scheduled to perform next at The Essence Festival on the 4th of July. There will be fireworks galore from Prince & his band alone that night.
