California singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis has debuted her new single, "Just One Of The Guys," on NPR's "All Songs Considered" today. The track is taken from her forthcoming album The Voyager, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on July 29th.
The album is now available for pre-order today from all participating digital retailers. Those who pre-order will receive an instant download of "Just One Of The Guys."
"Just One Of The Guys" was produced by Beck, who also contributes backing vocals. "It was one of the tunes I'd tried a few different ways before I finally recorded it with Beck at his home studio in Malibu," Lewis says. "The whole experience was super laid-back - walking on the beach, talking about movies, the Rolling Stones, and French pop music. It was just very mellow and lovely."
Beck is one of several artists Lewis chose to produce tracks on The Voyager, which also features production from Ryan Adams, alongside Mike Viola, as well as her longtime collaborator, Johnathan Rice. The Voyager is the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman's third solo album and first in six years, following 2006's Rabbit Fur Coat (with The Watson Twins) and 2008's Acid Tongue. It finds the always relatable songwriter at her sharp-witted best, singing about her recent experiences with honesty and incisiveness.
The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons will be hosting Saturday Night Live with musical guest Beck! The show will air on March 1st.
Parson's, who plays Dr. Sheldon Cooper on the huge hit comedy will be hosting SNL for the first time. Jim will be promoting his upcoming HBO TV special "The Normal Heart" which will air on the network in May.
Beck will be promoting his new album "Morning Phase" which will be released Feb. 25th.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Should be real interesting to see Parson's host the show....
Ok everyone. Hope you had a great day. I could go on but that's not really why you are reading this is it?
So here is the up to date deal along with the seal of don't shoot the messenger;
Expect the concert to start around midnight on Sunday.
There was a little bit of drama going on with the venue and wanting it to be free for the the fans is just not do-able. It was tried and asked but did not happen. Some of these things sometimes are clusterf*&#@, but always works out in the end and is def worth it.
Fans will have the opprotunity to purchase tickets. I word it like that because plain and simple, these parties are usually good at delivering a good butt-whupping of funk. I do not know price yet but you know as soon as I know, I will let you all know. I can tell you what price sho sound good to me.
I would HIGHLY recommend this for people in Los Angeles and surrounding cities only. These things are fickle plans can change at the drop of a hat, and to fricken fly here on a whim...well you better have back up plans.
That is your decision and yours only. You don't know how many tickets are going to be sold or how many people would be allowed in. Just saying straight out, there will be enough L.A. fans and celebs fighting for those spots. We clear n cool? Cool.
Let's see..am I forgetting something....
Where It's At? Man, that's a good song by Beck. ..........Oh chill, you know the doctor may tease but in the end I like to please.....
I have said too much already but I will have more news coming up. When it hits my Blackberry Funkenberry, you all will know.
On that note, to the limo pookie!-Dr.FB
Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony re-wed over this weekend in Las Vegas.
It has been four years since they have been married and wanted to renew their vows. The had the Ceremony at Caesars Palace’s Forum Tower Penthouse. People.com reports exclusively that it was only attended by two close friends.
Hmm. Where was Tom Cruise this weekend? I am sure he has been in New York with Katie & Surie. Hmmm. Was it Will & Jada Smith? Not scientologists...yet. Maybe it was Lea Remi on her husband. Just a note, nothing has been said this was a scientologist wedding, but why 4 years? I could understand 5. I could understand 10. But 4? Really? Maybe it was Jason Lee & Beck. You tell me. Regardless. 4 years in the industry is like 50 in real life. Congrats you two, but I still say something is fishy.-Dr.FB
Update: PEOPLE also reports that New York Mets slugger Carlos Beltran and his wife Jessica also renewed their vows in the ceremony.-Dr.FB
