Garth Brooks is sitting pretty at number one this week on the Billboard Album Charts with a box set that is only available at Wal-Mart.
Brooks set "Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences," sold 146,000 in its second week on the charts, preventing Britney Spear's new album "Britney Jean" from debuting at number one with only 107,000 copies sold, her lowest number ever for first week sales and debuting at number 4.
Garth's set includes 6 CD's and 2 DVD's and it is his 9th number one album. The set is only $29.99 for everything and is on sale for less than $25.00. It is the first multi-disc album to hit number one since 2003.
One Direction dropped to number 2 with 117,000 copies sold.
Sales are still down when comparing numbers to last years unit's moved, a trend that the music industry just cannot stop.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Now did each CD count 6 times as a sale or did the box set just count as one sale? Hmm....
EMINEM has 4 songs in the top 20 of Billboard's hot 100. The last artist(s) to do that? The Beatles in 1964. At one point earlier in 1964, The Beatles had 6 songs in the top 20.
"The Monster" with Rihanna sits in at #3. "Berzerk" is at number 15 followed by "Survival" at number 16 and "Rap God" is at number 17.
Eminem's "MMPL2" will debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts next week.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Maybe he really is a rap God. At least a God on the Billboard charts...
Katy Perry is the Billboard cover story 2 weeks after her song "Roar" was bumped out of the top spot. With "Roar" she tied Rihanna with nine number one songs.
"Honestly, I'm just masquerading as a pop star."-Katy Perry
"I am exhausting so much energy right now," Perry exclaims between bites of Cheez-Its -- furtive bites, because eating Cheez-Its is breaking training. "For eight days straight, I've been conditioning -- just going, going, going at the height of my physical capabilities. I'm supposed to eat meals every two hours, but it takes me an hour to think of what I want to eat, so by lunchtime, I'm starving. I'm just so hungry all the time."

Billboard editor Bill Werde is taking aim at Lady Gaga for what he feels is unfair and questionable promotion for her latest single "Applause" with a contest and a link that allowed you to watch her new video 150 times in a row.
Billboard is taking exception to the tweet she has since deleted where it allowed you to watch the "Applause" video 150 times in a row on YouTube. YouTube views now count towards chart positions so Billboard is upset that she was trying to manipulate the charts. Gaga and other Interscope acts had views taken away from them late last year as Billboard was about to implement the views into chart positions.
Also, Gaga was and still is asking for her fans to buy multiple digital copies of "Applause" along with screen shots of radio requests, selfies/video and the fan who did it the most would be flown out to see her perform at the iTunes Festival in London.
Bill Werde took to Twitter to explain his frustration with Gaga.
Janelle Monae's new album will be titled "The Electric Lady" and will feature songs with PRINCE & Miguel.
The album is due in September and in an new interview with Billboard she talks about working with her friend PRINCE.
OK. Should we be calling this Miguel-gate or "Leg Drop" central? We clearly need a name for this.
Miguel has stated through his reps that Billboard producers never warned him not to jump during his performance, contrary to what they have stated.
Miguel made the jump twice in rehearsals and his people claim that Billboard wanted to know if he would do the jump again so their cameras could get it. The cameras did get the jump pretty good.
Khyati Shah, the girl he leg dropped in the head is claiming she may have possible brain damage and is waiting for results from tests before possibly pursuing a lawsuit.
Billboard producers gave Shah an ice bag for her elbow after the incident but did not receive any medical care.-DocFB
Diagnosis: A different kind of hit on Billboard....
Elton John's "Candle In The Wind" held the title of best selling single of all time, going eleven times platinum. Now, a song has gone 12 times platinum. Who?
"Baby" by Justin Bieber is now the best selling song of all time. With Billboard now taking into account Youtube views, "Baby" surpasses "Candle In The Wind"..although it hasn't sold more.
Bieber's "Baby" featuring rapper Ludacris has sold 3.9 million copies and has been viewed 859 MILLION times on YouTube.
Elton's "Candle In The Wind"/"Something About The Way You Look Tonight" has sold 33 million copies world-wide, 11 million in the U.S. There is no official YouTube channel for the "Candle In The Wind" performance, meaning it falls behind Bieber's YouTube hits, regardless of sales.
As much as I like the step forward Billboard has taken counting YouTube views, it changing the charts of songs that were there for years is disappointing.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Let's see if Bieber is still selling out 60,000 seat arena's 45 years into his career....
