Billie Joe of Green Day is teaming up with Norah Jones to cover the classic Everly Brothers album "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us" and is titled "Foreverly" which is due to be released November 25th.
Green Day front man and Grammy® Award-winning artist Billie Joe Armstrong and Grammy® Award-winning singer and songwriter Norah Jones have teamed up to record Foreverly, an unforgettable 12-song collection inspired by Songs Our Daddy Taught Us, an album of traditional Americana songs reinterpreted, recorded, and released by The Everly Brothers in 1958. Recorded in nine days, Foreverly, captures the beauty of the Everly's stunning close harmonies to create a moving powerful testament to these rootsy ballads. Reprise Records will release album onNovember 25th.
Billie Joe Armstrong came clean when it came to his new interview with Rolling Stone magazine; he was a functioning alcoholic.
The lead singer of Green Day, who will be doing their first show since BJ exited rehab on March 10th, was very straightforward.
“I played onstage loaded a lot. I'd have anywhere from two to six beers and a couple of shots before I went onstage, then go and play the gig and drink for the rest of the evening on the bus.”
“Fall asleep, wake up the next day, feel like s***, do sound-check... it was over and over again. In that way, I was a functioning alcoholic. I've been trying to get sober since 1997, right around Nimrod. But I didn't want to be in any programs. Sometimes, being a drunk, you think you can take on the whole world by yourself. This was the last straw. I had no choices anymore,”
He also talked about his addiction to pills;
“I started combining them to a point where I didn't know what I was taking during the day and what I was taking at night. It was just this routine. My backpack sounded like a giant baby rattle."
The singer wrote a song about Amy Winehouse and did not learn her lesson. We are hoping this time, through his own experiences, he learned his own lessons.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Glad you're better....but don't fall into old habits again BJ.
Bad news for Green Day fans. They have officially cancelled their 2012 Voodoo Music & Arts Experience performance on October 27th, 2012.
There was no reason given for the band's cancellation in the statement I received but we do know that Billie Joe Armstrong checked into rehab for substance abuse a little over a week ago after the band's Iheartradio performance.
"Canceling shows is something we rarely do," said Tré Cool. "We never want to let our fans down, and we are grateful for all of you being understanding during this time."
For those that may have thought this was for show, it seems like you may be wrong.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Get Well Soon BJ!
Rock & Roll just got interesting again as Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong went off when they were being forced to end their set at the Iheartradio festival in Las Vegas.
Armstrong gets testy around the 5 minute mark noticing how much time was left and dropped a barrage of "F" bombs in succession. He said maybe they should get Usher back out there.
Then close to the 8 minute mark of the video, he goes off noticing they have 1 minute to finish the set. What does Billie Joe do? He goes old school rock & roll style saying "He is not Justin F'n Bieber" and then proceeds to smash his guitar.
Check out the video above. Total rocker craziness!-DocFB
Green Day has hooked up with Rovio, the company that created Angry Birds, to launch an episode of Angry Birds Friends. This is the first time Rovio has hooked up with a band to do this.
The episode features 10 never-before-seen themed levels, as well as all new bad pig characters inspired by band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool.
It's not like he pulled a Gerard Depardieu n peed in the aisle of a plane but Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of rock group Green Day was kicked off a flight from Oakland to Burbank for....get this...wearing baggy pants.
This is all according to an ABC producer who saw the whole thing go down.
