EMINEM has just released the video for "Monster" featuring Rihanna.
Eminem appears to be going through his greatest hits showing him performing with Elton John and then recreates his "My Name Is" video where he is in a straight jacket with Dr. Dre looking over him again.
Em then goes back to 8 Mile to "Lose Yourself" and this time the music is not in the moment.
The next flashback sees him performing at the Grammy's with Elton John, using highlights from the actual show interjected with someone as Elton John when they hug. I know someone will say that is Elton now but it is not.
The last flash back shows the Eminem of now looking at the Eminem of then, the angry Eminem. The only person that could take out the Eminem of now. He is not that angry anymore. He cannot compete with that Em. It seems he doesn't want to and walks away.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Great video. Makes us like the song more than we did.
EMINEM is taking it to the 80's in the new video for "Rap God" channeling Max Hedrom from those Coca-Cola commercials back then.
As he drops the other "F" bomb consistently, it seems he gets a pass...only because the outrage when he says it seems to be minimal. Doesn't mean people are not upset. Maybe they just don't care about Em anymore.-DocFB
Diagnosis: As he raps, he is still getting away with talking about things even though he is not as big anymore....
It looks like "Monster" by EMINEM and RIHANNA will be the next single from EMINEM's new album "MMLP2".
There hasn't exactly been a smash hit yet for Em but the album is almost at the 1 million mark after 2 weeks of sales, which is impressive in today's album sales.
Eminem and Rihanna both posted photos on their Instagram accounts from the "Monster" set.-DocFB
Diagnosis: The song to me is not as good as "Love The Way You Lie" but let's see if a good video can help it....
EMINEM is about to appear on ESPN alongside Brent Musburger. Why does he all of a sudden look spaced out?
I knew we were about to show the 'Berzerk' video, so I was doing what I call the Berzerk face," he says. "The whole song to me feels like vintage Beastie Boys. And you know the 'Pass the Mic' video where Ad-Rock is making that face, kind of not looking the camera? I was doing my own version."
Eminem discusses this in the new issue of Rolling Stone with Eminem on the cover. This is Em's 8th cover of Rolling Stone.
He talks about that this is the happiest he has ever been and that rap saved him although because of that he considers himself to be an idiot savant.
EMINEM performed on the YouTube Awards where he won Artist Of The Year. It aired after his SNL questionable lip syncing episode.
It is obvious that Eminem is NOT lip syncing and just like his SNL performance, he keeps looking down to the lyric monitor as a reminder of what the lyrics are.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Shot in black and white, it is a much more powerful performance than SNL. Big time
EMINEM has 4 songs in the top 20 of Billboard's hot 100. The last artist(s) to do that? The Beatles in 1964. At one point earlier in 1964, The Beatles had 6 songs in the top 20.
"The Monster" with Rihanna sits in at #3. "Berzerk" is at number 15 followed by "Survival" at number 16 and "Rap God" is at number 17.
Eminem's "MMPL2" will debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts next week.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Maybe he really is a rap God. At least a God on the Billboard charts...
Marvel Comics has released a variant cover of The Mighty Avengers which features EMINEM and Iron Man sitting in front of Em's house growing up.
This is the second time Eminem has been featured on a Marvel variant cover. The first was in 2009 with The Punisher.
Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg spoke about why a variant cover was made:
"When the opportunity came up for us to do a variant cover with Eminem and Marvel, we immediately thought about how cool it would be for Eminem to be sitting with one of his favorite super heroes on the steps of the now abandoned house that he grew up in,"
Salvador Larroca designed the variant as well as the Punisher one in 2009.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Pretty cool variant. Surprised not more of an outcry that a cover with Eminem was made both times...
