EMINEM is about to appear on ESPN alongside Brent Musburger. Why does he all of a sudden look spaced out?
I knew we were about to show the 'Berzerk' video, so I was doing what I call the Berzerk face," he says. "The whole song to me feels like vintage Beastie Boys. And you know the 'Pass the Mic' video where Ad-Rock is making that face, kind of not looking the camera? I was doing my own version."
Eminem discusses this in the new issue of Rolling Stone with Eminem on the cover. This is Em's 8th cover of Rolling Stone.
He talks about that this is the happiest he has ever been and that rap saved him although because of that he considers himself to be an idiot savant.
EMINEM performed on the YouTube Awards where he won Artist Of The Year. It aired after his SNL questionable lip syncing episode.
It is obvious that Eminem is NOT lip syncing and just like his SNL performance, he keeps looking down to the lyric monitor as a reminder of what the lyrics are.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Shot in black and white, it is a much more powerful performance than SNL. Big time
EMINEM has 4 songs in the top 20 of Billboard's hot 100. The last artist(s) to do that? The Beatles in 1964. At one point earlier in 1964, The Beatles had 6 songs in the top 20.
"The Monster" with Rihanna sits in at #3. "Berzerk" is at number 15 followed by "Survival" at number 16 and "Rap God" is at number 17.
Eminem's "MMPL2" will debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts next week.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Maybe he really is a rap God. At least a God on the Billboard charts...
Marvel Comics has released a variant cover of The Mighty Avengers which features EMINEM and Iron Man sitting in front of Em's house growing up.
This is the second time Eminem has been featured on a Marvel variant cover. The first was in 2009 with The Punisher.
Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg spoke about why a variant cover was made:
"When the opportunity came up for us to do a variant cover with Eminem and Marvel, we immediately thought about how cool it would be for Eminem to be sitting with one of his favorite super heroes on the steps of the now abandoned house that he grew up in,"
Salvador Larroca designed the variant as well as the Punisher one in 2009.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Pretty cool variant. Surprised not more of an outcry that a cover with Eminem was made both times...
EMINEM's reps are denying he lip synced his Saturday Night Live appearance this weekend. Regardless, the performances, were less than stellar.
He appears to be looking at the lyric monitor a lot and at first, I thought his microphone was turned down and he was rapping ALONG to the backing track...although he had a live band. Hmm. Was cool to see Rick Rubin djing...although the beard makes him look like he should be on "Duck Dynasty" instead of on the 1's n 2's.
For "Survival" it seems Skylar Grey's mic is working. Eminem's? Still not sure.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Regardless of lip syncing or not, his mic was way low in the mix, and the backing track and musicians, way louder, which is suspect. For a rap veteran, not a good look.
EMINEM has released a video for "Survival" with our favorite line "I'm not a rapper, I'm an adapter." After SNL, can you also call him a lip syncer though?
The clip features from "Call Of Duty: Ghots" with "Survival" being the theme song for the video game. For that use, the video is fine.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Singles killed the album star.....
EMINEM has teamed with Rihanna once already on the 11+ million seller "Love The Way You Lie" and they team up again for "The Monster" to be released on the "MMLP2" in November!
Bebe Rexha wrote the song along with production from Frequency.
"The Monster" is featured on MMLP2 due in stores November 5th and has 16 tracks. EMINEM announced over the weekend the deluxe edition sold on his site will have 21 tracks.-DocFB
Diagnosis: "Love The Way You Lie" was one of EMINEM's biggest hits. Will "The Monster" follow suit?....
Eminem is going down....under and bringing Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole with for a stadium tour. The event is being billed as a "game-changing tour" and will take place in 2014.
Australian hip hop artist 360 will open up and New Zealand rapper David Dallas will play Auckland date.
Hip Hoop festivals have been struggling in Australia but we have a feeling this one is going to do quite well.
Online ticket sales start Oct. 31. Tickets for all dates are priced from about U.S. $95 to $290. There will be a pre-sale on October 24th.
Less than a week after dropping "Survival" Eminem has released a new song from MMLP2. The song is entitled "Rap God" and is vastly different from "Survival" and the first single "Berzerk" released in August.
Eminem's flow is still as strong as ever but goes back to the word that rhymes with "Maggot" yet again.
You can purchase "Rap God" on iTunes HERE.
MMLP2 is due in stores on November 5th.-DocFB
Diagnosis: He brings up Clinton and Lewinsky again. 2Pac, DMC, Dre, then goes into the Alcohol of Fame, calling out Wacka Flaka Flame, and then he shoots a verbal AK-47 at Ray J. He also goes all J.J. Fas "Supersonic" on the track. Dang. Rap God. Yeezus, you listening?
