I just learned that Dave Grohl’s new band Them Crooked Vultures are doing a secret show at the Roxy tonight.

No line-ups before 2 P.M. and tix will be around 50 bux.

50 bux Dave? Weezer just did a secret show for less than a fraction of that amount. If it was a Nirvana reunion, Queens of the Stone Age, and the Foo Fighters, it would be worth it and more.

UPDATE; The other band members are Queens Of The Stone Age front man Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin member John Paul Jones, so it may be worth that ticket price.

Maya & Nandy, better known as “The Twinz” performed this song on the world’s biggest stage, the Super Bowl with Prince in 2007 to the largest halftime audience of all time.

Maya and Nandy have been performing acoustic shows around the Los Angeles & Santa Monica area for a couple of weeks now.  They will be performing a FREE show at the World Cafe this Tuesday, September 22nd 2009 in Santa Monica at 9:00 P.M. and they should impress you.

The ap is reporting what we reported 3 days ago! That Dave Grohl’s wife Jordyn gave birth to their second daughter.

Her name is Harper Williow Grohl.

3 days later they report it. 3 days!. You all know this is the spot right?  People, Rolling Stone, your mom, they are all gonna be talking about it today.

Foo Fighters Get Political. File Photo

Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters are mad that McCain is using their song “My Hero” on his campaign trail and asked him to stop using it.

Dave had this to say: “It’s frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property,” the band says in a statement. “The saddest thing about this is that ‘My Hero’ was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song.”

This is not the first time on this campaign trail that artists have complained about McCain’s campaign using songs without permission.  Heart went after them and Jackson Browne went even as far to sue.

Dave Grohl announced yesterday that the Foo Fighters will be taking a very long, very well deserved break.  I know every once in a while, you need your batteries recharged, just hope it is not too long.  You guys have been one of the good things about music the past few years.-Dr.FB
