Exclusive Photos! fDeluxe & The NPG Hold An Encore Jam Session

fDeluxe performed at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis last night and before it was all over, 2 of Prince's band members from the NPG joined fDeluxe for the encore which turned into an all out jam session!

Morris Hayes sporting a little longer doo nowadays took a spot behind the keyboards while the talented drummer John Blackwell took his place behind the drum kit.

For those asking it was not a jam built around the Menard's ad that fDeluxe did as a response to Prince's "Mutiny/Ice Cream Castles" rehearsal jam.

In any indication, having his band members play with fDeluxe, formerly The Family, is a huge indication that the former proteges of Prince are on good terms with him.

FDeluxe consists of original family members Paul Peterson, Susannah Melvoin, Jellybean Johnson, and Eric Leeds.

So far, there are no more current dates, but we have heard Paul's desires to bring the funk back to the West Coast soon and Drfunkenberry is going to try and help make this happen.

Stay tuned....because fDeluxe is going to make sure "You Got What You Wanted" when you go to their shows.  Also, make sure to pick up the new single of the same name HERE!

The song is a cover of the classic Ike & Tina Turner song.  For now, enjoy the photos and again, we will keep you updated when new tour dates are released.-DocFB

Dave Grohl Totally Has A Man-Crush On Prince

After we talked about Prince and Dave Grohl jamming, Dave started talking about it on tour.

Dave played 2 Forum shows and another Southern California show, and in each one, he described the jam session we talked about and that took place between the 2.

We would really love to share with you the version of "Whole Lotta Love" that Dave and Prince covered by Led Zeppelin,  If anyone has it, we would greatly appreciate being able to post it here.

Check out Dave's total bromance with Prince above.-DocFB

1st,we hope you have been going to Andy Allo's Facebook Fan Page like we told you to a couple of days ago for more goodies.  She has posted a live version of Prince performing "Stratus" from last night and some exclusive photos of her and Prince as well.

Ok, on that acoustic version of "Guitar" we posted the other day, there was some data attached to it.  The photo above was attached and the information below saying it is from a project called "The L/C" featuring Prince and Andy Allo.  Here is a screen cap;

Meta Data Of Acoustic "Guitar" track

Meta Data Of Acoustic "Guitar" track

This comes on the heels of Prince telling "The Guardian" and others that he will no longer be recording or releasing any new material.  Very interesting.

The track sounds liked a jam session between Prince and Andy Allo, stripped down to its roots to even let a little bit of the recording process in as Prince and Allo interact within the track.  We have posted it again below for your listening pleasure.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

We have not contacted Prince's reps for this as the artwork and meta still remain on the track posted a couple of days ago.  So, what do you guys think this is for and what do you think "The L/C" stands for?-Dr.FB

So Janelle Monae was in Minneapolis, MN last night at First Avenue and some purple spies tell us PRINCE was in attendance with his full band.

Janelle had to Tweet before the show about First Avenue knowing it was where Purple Rain, the greatest rock n roll movie ever made, was filmed.

We heard after Janelle funkdafied First Ave, she headed back to Paisley Park, Prince's recording studios in Minneapolis for those who don't know, and jammed with Prince and his 8(?) piece band for a couple of hours with her and her band.

Why oh why couldn't have someone filmed that?  All that funk in one place?  We might have passed out from the overload of true artists creating.

Something special happened with Janelle as she had to tweet this:

Finally learning something that I have been trying to learn for a while! Yes!!!!

We also hear that PRINCE and the band checked out Esperanza Spaulding at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minnesota earlier in the week as well.

Janelle and Esperanza are GREAT musicians in their own right.  Make sure to check them out if you haven't already.

With PRINCE set to tour Northern Europe next month, we wonder what other purple surprised we can expect soon?  One can hope, right?-Dr.FB
