John Legend has released "Who Did That To You" from the "Django Unchained" Soundtrack.
Legend took the task of recording a song for a Quentin Tarantino film very seriously.
"Quentin Tarantino's movies have such a specific sound to them where the music plays such an important role. When I first learned that Quentin was making Django Unchained, a film set in the South two years before the Civil War, I felt a strong connection to the story, and I knew that I wanted to write a song for it, one that would give voice to this character Django who was willing to stand up and fight for his lover's honor. The scene where the song plays is such a powerful moment in the film, a moment of redemption, and we wrote a triumphant and heroic song that underscores Django's mission."
"Django Unchained" lands in theaters on Christmas Day.
I am digging this song. It is nice to hear Legend singing a song like this. Aside from "Green Light" most of his mellow songs get a major push. Here is hoping this song finds an audience that is worthy and gives it a chance.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Call Tha Police....
Conan is back from his 2nd week long vacation since taking over the Tonight Show back in June, which is why I am calling him the George Bush of Talk Show Hosts.
It has NBC worried like crazy about the decision to turn over The Tonight Show to Conan after Jay Leno's successful run. Saving a booking war, Jay announced he will only have one guest on the show most of the time.
Conan has been struggling to get good guests and unless he starts booking some soon, he may want to look for a new booking agent. This week is the first week that Conan has better guests than David Letterman, who has been winning the ratings war.
Examples: David Letterman's guests this week: Vogue's Ana Wintour, Tennis Player Andy Roddick.
Conan: Mike Tyson, Bradley Cooper, Franz Ferdinand, and Quentin Tarintino. (A week after Letterman though)
Hopefully, Conan can turn it around. I am rooting for him but I do have to call it as I see it. And Conan, when you get good guests, make sure everyone knows it. On tonight's show I hope you mention later this week you have Bradley Cooper and Mike Tyson on your show at least 3 times. Trust me it will work.
Coming tomorrow, another piece of advice for Mr. O'Brien.-Dr.FB
Brad Pitt was in Germany yesterday. Berlin-Mitte to be exact where he picked up the script for Inglorious Bastards, the Quentin Tarantino production.
That’s all fine and dandy, but Brad was rocking one of those pornstatche’s from the 80’s! Loving the hat…and sigh…yea..he can even pull off that mustache.-Dr.FB
