Our 90's Flashback Jam Of The Moment is "Just A Girl" by No Doubt.
Even then, she was still an Orange County Girl, rocking her Anaheim shirt. Her look was new, it was different, and it was made for an MTV World that still played Music Video's (And allowed them to perform on their Award show even if they did perform on the Teen's Choice Awards. Sigh. MTV, you really do suck donkeyballs now.) and win multiple MTV Awards as well, mind you.
Gwen's image really did dominate the band but for those that knew music, we knew Tony, Tom, and Adrian, and when we heard there were not 1 but 2 No Doubt album's before "Tragic Kingdom" we tracked those sucker's down!
The band has just released their 6th official album "Push And Shove" and show no signs of "Settling Down" anytime soon, which is more than fine by me.
So enjoy our 90's flashback jam of the moment of "Just A Girl" by No Doubt, one of my favorite bands of all time I have yet to see live yet! I have several chances coming up later this year though.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Mad Love Always To Tony, Adrian, Tom, Gwen, and the true hardcore fans who know all about Beacon Street and then some!
After Van Halen rocked the Forum, I ran into Tony Kanal of No Doubt. We talked briefly and the guy was friendly to all.
My friend spoke to him first and said that we cannot wait for the album. Tony replied, "We are working hard on it and can't wait for it to be out as well."
After I took a photo with him, I let him know about drfunkenberry.com and he knew of the site. Tony said: "I love the site. I go there all the time."
I said the site would be even better if we get something exclusive for when the new No Doubt CD comes out. I thanked him for his time and cursed myself a million times for being without a business card.
I mean we could all use just a snippet or something new from No Doubt right? There is that send us news button above.....just in case someone wants to. Ahem.
Tony was totally cool and hope you guys enjoy the photo.-DocFB
No New No Doubt in 2011. No Doubt just released an official statement via NoDoubt.com that the album is just not ready yet.
The statement from the entire band reads:
We've been incommunicado for the past few weeks so we wanted to reach out and say hi. Work on the new No Doubt album is well underway and we can't wait to share it with you. The past twelve months have been eventful; we performed for Paul McCartney and President Obama at the Kennedy Center Honors, three beautiful new No Doubt babies were born, and we've recorded in studios all over Los Angeles. Ideally our new record would be coming out this year but it's just not ready yet. We don't want to rush this album just to get it out. This collection of songs means everything to us and our only priority right now is to make sure that it's the best album we can possibly make. There is still more work for us to do...
We love our fans and are doing this for your ears and want you to know how much we appreciate your patience and support.
PS. There have been some stories circulating about us collaborating with outside producers and artists. Please don't believe anything you hear unless it comes from us.
Wow! I was really hoping we would get a taste of some new No Doubt but I guess not. We understand that the new record is not ready n don't want to rush the recording process. Sigh.
We will just have to wait patiently and hope 2012 will bring us some new No Doubt!-DocFB
Diagnosis: I Guess It Is Worse For Justin Timberlake Fans, Right?
Prince played the House of Blues Wednesday night and brought along enough star power to rival the American Idol Finale!
Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Charlie Sheen, David Spade, Dan Akroyd, Dr. Cornel West, Tavis Smiley, Tony Kanal of No Doubt, Sanna Hamri, and later in the night, Bono.
The celebs went crazy with Prince as he did his classics such as "U Got The Look", "Mountains" and "Let's Work" along with a new song called "U Will Be With Me" that impressed the audience. Tom Cruise and others were on the move all night.
After the show, Tom reached over to Katie with a huge smile on his face. Charlie Sheen did not want to mingle with the Hollywood elite on the 2nd floor and chose to instead chill by the soundboard on the first floor. Very interesting. This was one of Charlie's first public appearances since Ashton Kutcher was named to replace him on "2 and Half Men." Only Prince can bring Charlie out.
Later in the night, Bono joined in the fun watching Prince play until 4 in the morning!
Prince has 3 more shows at the Forum this Weekend in L.A., Friday Saturday and Sunday. We can't think of a better way to spend Memorial Day Weekend then partying with Prince. Good seats are still available on Ticketmaster.com-Dr.FB

Prince pulled a trifecta at the House of Blues Wednesday night, providing over 8 hours of rock, funk, and soul that entertained, mesmerized, frustrated, and added to Prince's legend as the greatest living live musician of all time.
Prince took the stage after 9 P.M. and the upstairs area had more star power than American Idol that night with Tom Cruise, Katy Holmes, Tony Kanal of No Doubt, Dan Akroyd, Dr. Cornel West, Sanna Hamri,Tavis Smiley, Charlie Sheen, David Spade, Kelis, and later in the night, Bono.

Gwen Stefani took time out from New York Fashion Week to talk about No Doubt and the new CD.
As much as we LOVE your clothing line Gwen, we CANNOT wait for the NEW No Doubt record!!!
Also, congrats to Tony Konal and his wife as she is pregnant. We hear he is giving it a healthy dose of Bob Marley and Prince and reads the baby stuff from Dr.Funkenberry.com every day! OK OK we added the last part but with Marley and Prince, that baby is going to be funky with or without us!
Are you guys looking forward to a new No Doubt record?-Dr.FB
Gwen Stefani talks 'No Doubt' to Elle Magazine.
Once Ska turned pop singer admits to some conflict when she got back together with her band.
"Everybody's making it like there's all this tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they're jealous of me, and look, maybe there is a little bit of that," she says. The band attempted to write a new record before going on tour, but were unable to come up with new material. Things came to a head one day when they were recording a cover of Adam and the Ants' "Stand and Deliver." She and bass player Tony Kanal got into "a heated conversation" over the track.
"But some fights aren't really what they seem," Gwen says. "I think it was a little about the song, and a little about our coming back together. There was this little air bubble that needed to pop, you know?"
The new issue of Elle is on stands June 15th.
