Prince Gets Grammy Nod For “Dreamer”

I know I twittered about it last night but we are happy our favorite artist, Prince, was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance category last night for his song “Dreamer” from his latest CD Lotusflow3r.
We figured Prince would get a nod somewhere in the R n B field and aside from a performance from Maxwell, NO R & B noms were announced on the show. We are happy for Prince and hope he brings home another Grammy on January 31st, 2010.

I hope he wins. I’m too old to be part of the Lady Gaga and Beyonce peergroup. But how come all the nominated in the Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance are middleaged or elderly men ? The old guys outplaying the young guns?
Can’t believe that Prince did not get any noms for R & B Category’s!?!?
Did everyone forget that he is R & B still…..did they not listen to the entire album?
Dreamer is hot but there is more on the album…..maybe I am just bias!
I am glad that he did get the nom for Dreamer don’t get me wrong I just thought the album was better. Maybe just in my mind….I am a Dreamer.

Very cool.. I hope this gives the show a reason to invite Prince on so he can rock the house. You know Prince always makes an award show or any show for that matter more exciting to watch. All his performances are classic!

Yaaaayy!Congratulations to Prince for the Nomination!I hope that he wins it!Of course he deserves to be in more categories than just the the one he is nominated for.But me personally think it is better than none.Considering that it is usually the same artists up for every award!And of course the awards shows now lack entertainment quality severely!Not like it use to be!So if Prince were to perform it would give me a reason to watch!At least then it would actually be REAL MUSIC BY A REAL MUSICIAN!
With or without the award doesn’t make his value any more or any less! He is in a category that not many are.All he needs is the love & support of his fans and for him to just keep on doin what he loves!Go on wit your bad self Prince!Cause we love ya for it!

Good move, I love this song! He gotta be enticed somehow, they need some beauty and sexcitement around the place.
I sure hope Prince wins the Grammy for this. “Dreamer” is a kick ass song and he deserves a Grammy for that. It’ll be cool to see him win a Grammy for something other than R&B though he should have been nominated in that category too. Whatever the case, I wish Prince the best!

Prince can out rock all of them in that category. I would have loved 2 c him get another r&b nod. Prince has already won a few Grammy’s in the past few years already in the R&B category.
But Prince has not got enough props in the rock category. Its time they recognized his flexibility in per4ming any kind of music besides R&B. Dreamer is his best rock song in years and deserves more attention.

I sincerely hope the nomination fuels the album … It has so much potential! It breaks my heart such a *good* record would sink away. I really wish for a tour or at least some residency somewhere performing stuff from Lotus Flow3r – not just a couple of one-off French gigs or some hit and run affair at the Park. This stuff really needs to be HEARD, Prince is playing guitar better and better everyday!
Man, best Jazz few years back, best R & B last couple of years Now best Rock! How under rated & diverse is this man. Pure musical genius. Sorry MJ, But Prince deserves his awards! As mentioned B4 he really doesn’t need or crave accolades. He knows all good gifts come from God. I loved the old skool vibe of the 24th and would LOVE to C Dreamer, Crimson, Colonized and 4ever live. When he ask the audiance old or new and every one started screaming I was screaming NEW n it was so cute when he said I love it when fights break out.

I remember calling rock radio stations in 79/80 and playing (I’m Yours) for them and saying why won’t you play this its way better than so many other songs on the air. They were so limited back then and still r! so many people will never hear it, they dont know what thier missing its a shame. I love ALL of his music funk 2 rock 2 silly n just havin a laugh.
