Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” debuted at number 84 on the Billboard Charts and then jumped to #4 with the most adds ever in one week for a new single. That didn’t last long as the single fell out of the top 10 to number 13.
The song dropped 65 percent in digital sales, down 200,000 copies.
The video has yet to be released and was shot last week in Los Angeles with Jay Z, which is where the photo above is from.
Although sales are down, “Suit & Tie” is gaining airplay. We have a feeling with the video release and with his performance on the Grammy’s next week, the song will rebound back into the top 10.
It does show that perhaps a song with a gradual build-up tend to last longer on the charts and have more staying power than a song that hits so fast, it usually is gone within the month.-DocFB
