This is seriously no joke; Sly Stone is homeless. Regardless if he does not mind, one of the great musical pioneers of the 60's and 70's is living in a van in Los Angeles.
I know through the years, several have reached out to Sly but he has not taken their help. Holly Robinson Peete was pleading via Twitter for Sly to live with her. Seriously.
I have been trying to find this white van that the NY Post had found in Los Angeles. What I can tell you is that family members say is it Sly's decision to live in the van. Yes, he is broke due to his drug habit and also bad business decisions.
This is hard for me. This is what happens when you do not respect money but also like Rick James used to say "cocaine is a hell of a drug."
We all know Sly's music. We have heard it in our soul. In movies. In stupid car commercials. HE sold his publishing rights in the 1980's and Michael Jackson bought them for considerably less than what they were worth.
Sly believes he is on his way to a musical comeback and does not want to live in one place, but this is too much.
We have to ask, does Sly even want the help of "Everyday People" right now? This is not living. This is not funk. This is not happiness. Right?-DocFB
It has not been officially announced but it looks like Van Halen is about to leave Warner Bros. Records after 35 years together.
HitsDailyDouble.com is reporting the signing. David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Wolfgang Van Halen have been recording together for the better part of a year.
The band was to perform in Australia this month, but have since backed out. There is no status on tour dates although we have heard that they do plan to tour with the upcoming album in 2012.
The announcement of leaving Warner Bros. for Columbia may be delayed due to the news of R.E.M. breaking up and are signed to Warner Bros. as well.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Are They Still Relevant Being Back With "Diamond Dave"?
OK, first off, Kanye West is going nowhere. He has talent and his whole Taylor Swift interruption is done. Enough time has passed. He didn't beat up someone. Ahem. So get over it.
My only problem with Kanye West's performance is that the whole dead air we hear and on other performances. What may come off great live in the place comes off horrible at home with all of the dead air to censor it.
If you have so much talent, for TV appearances, come up with different lyrics so we can actually hear everything.
What did you think of Kanye's performance of "Power" at the BET Awards?-Dr.FB
It is really hard to say someone who is 21 is having a comeback, but then again not every person who is 21 did what Chris Brown did. Emotional overload may have taken place for him last night.
Only time can tell if an audience has forgiven him. Him winning an award at the end of the BET Awards voted on by fans is a start.
Also, some people felt he faked it towards the end of his Michael Jackson Tribute performance. What do you think?-Dr.FB
They were one of the biggest selling groups of the 90's, one of the longest reigns at number 1 and then.....they had Puff Daddy produce them and they fell off.
They are trying to make a "comeback" with Randy Jackson doing a series of covers called "Love" featuring songs like "I Can't Make You Love Me", "Open Arms", "Back For Good", "If You Leave Me Now" and the Goo Goo Dolls "Iris." What?
Without the bass man, they are persevering, and I do think Boyz II Men one day will make it back to the mainstream because they have talent. I just feel it will not be with this CD.
What do you think?-Dr.FB
The reviews are starting to come in for Whitney Houston's new CD and it looks good!
She even boasts a line from L.L. Cool J; "Don't call it a comeback/I've been here for years" and you believe it.
USA Today gave the diva 3 and a half stars and for more of the review, please go here.
So, Drfunkenberry visitors, are you planning on getting the new CD from Whitney?-Dr.FB
