Jam Of The Week! Mariah Featuring Miguel “Beautiful” Listen Now!
The DrFunkenberry Jam Of The Week is "Beautiful" by Mariah Carey & Miguel. The video will premiere on Wednesday night's edition of "American Idol", a show that Mariah is a judge on.
Mariah used American Idol finalists Idol finalists Candice, Kree, and Angie’s vocals as backup on another new track due soon.
As for working with Miguel, Mariah had this to say while talking to Ryan Seacrest this morning;
“I’m a huge fan of his music and I think everybody is so blown away by him right now … We got together, he had starting writing this song with just the guitar riff… and I have to say this about him as a collaborator, sometimes when you haven’t worked with somebody you don’t know really what they do in the studio …and if they have the same kind of love for music that I have … and he’s the truth. We just wanted to do something different that has a texture that feels fresh.”

Jam Of The Week! New Janelle Monae “Q.U.E.E.N.” With Erykah Badu! Listen Now!
Here is the NEW Janelle Monae song "Q.U.E.E.N." featuring Erykah Badu, our DrFunkenberry Jam Of The Week!
Billboard calls the track unpredictable and says it is filled with some Princely guitar work.
Monae takes on religious tolerance and other things in the 5:12 track.
She explained to Billboard:
"This song is inspired by private conversations she (Erykah) and I have had and continue to have,"
"She's a great friend to me; she's like a big sister and it's a song about private dialogue that she and I have had."
There is no release date yet for the song but their will be an upcoming tour. There is discussion by many on the web about if the song is discussing Janelle's sexuality. Janelle somewhat responded in the Tweet below:

Our Jam Of The Week is Florence & The Machine with the new song "Over The Love" which will be featured on "The Great Gatsby" Soundtrack.
GQ magazine first debuted the song. Beyonce, Fergie, and Lana Del Rey will also be featured on the Jay Z produced soundtrack to the film.
The movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire will be in theaters on May 10th.-DocFB

It is good. Better than "Suit & Tie" and as strong as "Pusher Love Girl". "Suit & Tie" is already fading before the video is out, so here comes "Mirrors" where it doesn't sound like Justin at times.

Jam Of The Week: “Screwdriver” By PRINCE; Going For Radio Ads Next Week
Our Jam Of The Week is "Screwdriver" by PRINCE featuring Hannah Ford, Donna Grantis, and Ida Neilsen. The song will be going for ads on radio overseas as Purple Music will be distributing the single.
UPDATE: Purple Music advised the single will be released digitally Feb. 4th on all known online stores.

"Screwdriver" debuted on PRINCE's new web site earlier this week with much fanfare. The web site 20PR1NC3.com debuted with an announcement by Billboard Magazine.
It has been a busy month for the music legend as several songs and videos of his have been put out by a twitter account with the handle of 3rdEyeGirl including "Chapter & Verse" which is a sound board recording from PRINCE's 6 sold out shows at the Dakota Jazz Club in his hometown of Minnesota.
If January is any indication of what 2013 has in store for PRINCE (Pr1NC3) fans, then it is going to be BIG! Along with the new web site and the Billboard cover, PRINCE will be receiving the Icon Award at this Year's Billboard Awards May 19th and will be attending a tribute in his honor at Carnegie Hall in March which is being put together by Questlove of The Roots.
"Screwdriver" is a rock number that we cannot wait to hear live. It is great that it will be getting played on radio stations overseas and getting a release over there. Here is hoping that a US distributor will step up to the plate soon that would enable the song to get radio play and a proper release out here.
Along with those hopes, why do I envision him going on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" soon and ripping this song to shreds right in front of Questlove? Oh well. A Doc can dream.
