Metallica Promo Photo

Metallica and Comic-Con? Seriously?

Picturehouse announced today the iconic band, Metallica, will appear for the first time ever at Comic-Con in San Diego with a special live performance and Hall H Panel on Friday, July 19 in support of the groundbreaking 3D feature film, "Metallica Through The Never".

The band will perform an intimate private concert at a secret location in San Diego. The film's 6:30 p.m. Hall H panel includes all four members of Metallica: James Hetfield (vocals, guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (guitar, background vocals) Robert Trujillo (bass, background vocals); along with actor Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), director/writer Nimród Antal (Predators, Kontroll) and producer Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth).

The Hall H presentation will world premiere the "Metallica Through the Never" theatrical trailer and poster, show exclusive preview footage and discuss the making of the film. Only during the Hall H panel will Comic-con conventioneers in attendance have an opportunity to win tickets and learn the location where Metallica will play later that same evening. Metallica Not Standing In The Way Of Military Interrogation Music

Metallica Promo Photo

It made a big splash when the Military advised when torturing prisoners during interrogations, they played Metallica's music to soften them up. There was a report going around that the band was upset with their music being used. Not true.

The band has officially made a statement about their music being used and it seems they don't care either way.

Here is the official statement:

"There has been a lot of talk recently about us asking the military not to use our music to "soften people up before interrogation". We NEVER commented to the military either way on this matter. Any statements that have been made otherwise are not correct."

So Metallica isn't tripping on their music being used. End of story. All along we thought they were using Barry Manilow's music instead.-DocFB

Diagnosis: No one was interrogated during this post.

Sesame Street Along With Metallica Used To Torture Guantanamo Bay Prisoners

Sesame Street

Sunny days? Not if you were a prisoner in Guantanamo Bay!

It is being revealed that Sesame Street was used as torture to prisoners at the facility. This is according to a new documentary released by Al Jazeera.

The documentary entitled "Songs of War" stats that prisoners would have headphones put on them blasting Sesame Street songs for hours on end.

Award-winning Sesame Street composer Christopher Cerf tells Al Jazeera, "My first reaction was this just can't possibly be true ..."

"Of course I didn't really like the idea that I was helping break down prisoners, but it was much worse when I heard later that they were actually using the music in Guantanamo to do deep, long-term interrogations and obviously to inflict enough pain on prisoners so they would talk."

In 2008, it was revealed the prison would use Metallica songs to torture the prisoners. We wonder if Lars Ulrich and Big Bird have hung out since.

What would you use for torture music; Metallica or Sesame Street?-DocFB

Scene & Heard

The stars came out for U2 at the Rose Bowl over the weekend as close to a 100,000 people attended the concert. David Beckham, Demi Moore, Ben Stiller, Kellan Lutz, Colin Farrel, Paris Hilton & Doug Reinhardt were in attendance.........

Morrissey collapsed onstage at a concert in Swindon, UK and was rushed to the hospital for breathing difficulties. Morrissey has had a few health problems on this tour but I am told he is stable and is OK. I hope so. No word on any other shows getting cancelled or postponed at this time......

The  Jonas Brothers performed at Caribbean Island of the Dominican Republic, rocking out their biggest hits after a press conference for the event.....

I got this tip through my cell Saturday afternoon: "Amy Winehouse is serving pints behind bar at Hawley Arms right now!" I did request pics but they were afraid Amy might go after them and start a fight, so they just decided to enjoy their pints and be amazed by what happened. I can't blame them. How cool is that though to show up at a bar and a celeb is behind serving them to you?........

Ivanka Trump got married this weekend to Jared Kushner, who is the publisher of the New York Observer. They were married at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ..........

Katy Perry celebrated her 25th birthday, throwing a white halloween party that saw the likes there such as boyfriend Russell Brand, Tayor Swift and Perez HitlerHilton. With that last name, I guess it was a substandard event. Still, we wish Katy a happy and sexy 25th birthday.

The Hollywood burglar bunch has been caught. Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Paris Hilton and Orlando Bloom were some of the victims......

The mom of the Balloon Boy admitted the whole thing was indeed a hoax. No need to mention their name and give them more time......

A girl that has been missing since attending a Metallica concert had more money put into the search to find her. Metallica has put up 50 Grand to find the missing girl. Hope this helps find her.......

YouTube Strikes Deal With Warner Bros. Music

So after days of it being talked about and after pulling all Warner Bros. videos from youtube 9 months ago, Warner Music has struck a deal with youtube.

No word on how this will effect videos by Madonna and Metallica, Warner Bros. artists. It was stupid for labels and artists to go after youtube. It's great they are getting paid but it's promotion. We don't watch videos on whack-ass MTV anymore.  With youtube getting close to actually getting on television, it makes sense for labels to latch on to something that will handle advertising for them.

Here is more on the deal. Do you still watch MTV for music videos or do you turn to blog sites such as the esteemed Dr.Funkenberry & YouTube?-Dr.FB

Warner Bros. Records Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Warner Bros. is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary with this video montage of the amazing artists who have worked for the WB.

With the way the Internet has changed the music game, it will be a miracle if they make it to see a 60th Anniversary. (So, ahem, can they get the master's back before then?)

Who was the first artist to kick off the video montage of Warner's greatest artists? Watch and find out, but you really shouldn't be surprised.

Blink and you'll miss Madonna. Hehe.-Dr.FB

Update: as of 12/22/02, Warner Bros. have removed ALL videos from youtube.  It was the label's decision and not one particular artist.-Dr.FB
