Peal Jam has the number one album with "Lightning Bolt" and performed "Sirens" their latest single, on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night.
Unlike performances on Fallon lately, this one was not available on YouTube, so any of our overseas visitors, you might have trouble watching the video.
The performance of "Sirens" is quite bad ass and the band will be back on tonight to perform again. Although it is "Pearl Jam" week on Fallon, they are only performing last night and tonight and had others doing covers of their songs.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Still cool. Still relevant. Still can kick your ass...

Nice to see Janelle and Gary getting some shine on this.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Pretty impressive that Ron Howard is behind this. Perhaps more films like this will be made now?

As we posted yesterday, PRINCE & 3rdEyegirl have been rehearsing an instrumental version of "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam for The Myth this Saturday in Minneapolis.
This version features a guitar duel between PRINCE & Donna Grantis that morphs into Aretha Franklin's version of "Rock Steady" before reprising the end vamp of "Even Flow".
Well, as promised, we were able to grab a snippet of PRINCE & 3rdEyeGirl rehearsing "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam, which you can listen to below!
For apple users, listen below!

It's been 13 years since Pearl Jam has topped the Billboard Charts, but it looks like their most recent release, "Backspacer" could hit #1 by week's end. Billboard reported that the record, released on Sunday, September 20th, is not on a major label and is exclusively being sold in the U.S. through Target, iTunes, independent retailers and the band's own website.
We wish Pearl Jam much luck in achieving the top spot! I have the new record and it is HOT!!
Here is a video that debuted first on Myspace of behined the scenes with Peal Jam of their new video "Backspacer" and includes new music from Pearl Jam, "The Fixer" and "Got Some" from thier upcoming CD release.
"Backspacer" will be released on September 20th. Thoughts?-Dr.FB
Elton John plays piano on the title track of the new Alice In Chains CD entitled "Black Gives Way To Blue" and it happened on a joke.
Blabbermouth reports that Jerry Cantrell said:
“We were thinking about adding piano to the track and a friend suggested we call Elton. I remember laughing and saying, ‘Yeah, I’ll get right on that.’ But I decided it was worth trying and wrote Elton an email explaining what that song means to us — that it’s a real, raw openhearted song for Layne. We sent him the track and got a call shortly after saying he thought it was beautiful and that he wanted to play on it. We were blown away. Elton John is a huge influence on me as a songwriter and having him on that song is an amazing honour for us.”
“I’ve long been an admirer of Jerry Cantrell and when he asked me to play on ‘Black Gives Way To Blue’, I was very flattered and couldn’t resist,” says John. “It was a great recording session with Alice In Chains for a beautiful song.”
“Elton was finishing his Red Piano run in Vegas, so we flew there and hung out for a few hours,” continues Cantrell. “Walking into a studio and seeing the sheet music for that song on Elton’s piano made it meaningful on so many different levels. The whole experience was pretty magical.”
That is some cool craziness. What's next? Pearl Jam and Barry Manilow? Metallica & The Jonas Brothers? (That suggestion was sent via Twitter.)-Dr.FB
