Isn’t it great when someone takes interest in what the post?

Eminem rcoked the 1,500 sound board theatre in Detroit yesterday while his new cd “Relapse” came out as well.

Em did an 8 song set for free with a mass amount of the tickets given out with hints and locations thru his twitter account.  I guess you could call it the Twicket giveaway.  From tickets found in shoes close to 8 Mile or meeting Paul at the Waffle House.  (Die hard Eminem fans will know who Paul is.) It was an interesting giveaway ala Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” but instead of looking where they would perform, you had to find where tickets would be.

Also, an update on the release date of “Relapse 2″ for those that missed it.  I spoke with someone from Interscope Records yesterday and they advised that Eminem’s “Relapse 2″ will be released in the 4th quarter, which would mean a November or December release date.

Will Eminem knock Green Day from the number 1 spot next week?  No need to go thru brain damage, we will know soon enough. Don’t forget Eminem will be on Jimmy Kimmel this Friday.-Dr.FB

Is this the cover for Relapse 2 to be released later this year?  Was this Eminem last Halloween in a weird ode to the Heath Ledger’s Joker and a combo thrown in of Hugh Hefner and a pirate sword for good measure?

Or maybe he is a new member of the Insane Clown Posse.  Uhoh.

Eminem had this message under the photo:

I wonder if it is a hint that Relapse 2 will be released on June 19th?  We will see.

What we do know is that Eminem’s new CD Relapse offically drops today.  It was leaked online weeks ago and has had some pretty disparaging reviews although the fans have stood by it so far.

What we do know is that Eminem is performing 2 more nights on Jimmy Kimmel soon and is throwing a free concert in his hometown of Detroit. 

Others may say it’s cheap promotion?  Me?  I don’t care and it comes off as promotion and very charitable.  Last time I checked, that was pretty cool.  I am sure even the ICP would agree.-Dr.FB

Update:  Just spoke with a friend from Interscope and Relapse 2 is scheduled for later this year.  Much later.   Think November/December.  Just wanted to keep the Shadyheads in the loop.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III, aka Slim Shady, aka Eminem will induct rap legends Run-DMC into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 4 this year. 

Eminem will join other presenters Jimmy Page, Flea, Smokey Robinson, and Ron Wood at the ceremonies in Cleveland, Ohio. Slim’s been pretty quiet of late, but that’s about to change. His next album, Relapse is set to be released May 19.

Eminem, who was to release his CD last December, then slated for April of this year, has been recording new material at a feverish pace.  So much so, he will have 2 new CD’s dropping in September of this year, entitled Relapse & Relapse 2.  Expect the second title to be changed.  Friend to the Dr. Funkenberry web site Kip Blackshire has been recording hooks for a couple of the Eminem tracks.

Nas is recording his new cd now. He is hooking up with Damian Marley again, after the success of 2005’s Road To Zion record.  It will be an EP release, not a full CD and is scheduled for release this spring.  We will have more news on both releases soon.-Dr.FB
