A new interview with Andy Allo talks about "Superconductor"'s distribution, chitlins, The Chappelle Show Prince basketball skit, and more!
The DJ's at KSFM tried to label Andy as Prince's girlfriend, but had them "slow their roll" as she said they were just friend's. After they got the Prince question out of the way, they were able to concentrate on her and the upcoming "Superconductor" album, her influences,
Here is part one, where they talk about Prince, the Chappelle Show, and Andy's Basketball skills.
In part two, Andy talks about her influences, Nina Simone, Sly & The Family Stone, and even throws in some Ice Cube for good measure. They also talk about how long she has been a singer and how the DJ scared beautiful women. She also touches base on distribution and how Universal is interested.
And in part 3, they play a slightly longer version of "People Pleaser" than you have heard before. She talks about working on "Superconductor" with Prince, Maceo Parker, The Hornheadz, and THE NPG and the DJ wanting to add some triangle to the album. We also find out that the album is planned to be 9 songs.
All in all, a very good interview as we found out more about "Superconductor" and Andy is having some fun. We hear there might be some coverage of Andy in the local Sacramento paper and a cover story as well before things get kicked off in the national spotlight.
Check out the interview above and let us know what you think.-DocFB
Andy Allo took to V101.1 FM In Sacramento with Big Al this morning, previewing new tracks from "Superconductor" and who worked on the CD with her, including Prince, Maceo Parker, Trombone Shorty, and others.
They talked all about that and more....all on one mic!!! The station has been moving buildings and did not have everything hooked up.
The songs previewed were "People Pleaser", "Superconductor", and "When Our Worlds Collide" and talked about making the record.
Big Al did want to pry a bit and ask what's going on with her and Prince. Andy said that he is a really good friend who surprised her by showing up in the studio in Sacramento while she is finishing up the CD.
It was nice to hear Andy talk about the experience making the CD and talking about touring with Prince & The NPG. I feel this was a great side to see and hear from her.
Here are a few clear sound clips from the show we were sent;
Someone caught the entire interview, which took place over 90 minutes, below. The clip below, the audio is not as clear as above but it does feature songs from "Superconductor" and a few other small clips.
Check out the lovely and talented Miss Andy Allo and say it with us...."Superconductor"...spell it out. Big Al. Just playing man! Thanks for everything.-DocFB
We cannot confirm but we hear some new tracks from Andy's "Superconductor" CD could be played during the interview. Those tracks include contributions from Prince and Maceo Parker.
On the stations Facebook page, they wonder if she will be bringing a special guest and if she is, they are not saying. Hmm.
Make sure to tune in tomorrow at 8 A.M. to catch Andy on V101.1 which you can stream right HERE!!!!
It should be a fun and good interview. Big Al is great.
Hey Al, if she brings a guest, can you ask that guest if they are going for OKC or Miami in the Finals? Hope they say OKC! I'm A Laker fan but can't get behind LeBron.
Looking forward to the interview Andy, and the preview of new music.-DocFB
Good mernin' good mernin'! Drfunkenberry just did a radio interview with Big Al from Sacramento V101.1 where we talked about a guest they had in town. Yes, the one and only PRINCE was/still is in town. Only he and his travel agent know for sure.
We talked about Andy Allo's "Superconductor" CD due for release later this year and a few other purple things. Andy sent out a tweet last night talking about being in the studio and watching the NBA Finals. Hmm. We have a feeling who wanted that on.

Enrique Iglesias was announced yesterday as the opening act for Britney Spears upcoming tour.....and today...he backed out. The reason? His ego couldn't handle being her opening act.
Enrique wanted equal billing with Britney as to be co-headliners. My understanding of a co-headliner is sometimes Britney would be the first act. That would not be happening. The agreement was being worked on for weeks with the understanding of the co-headliner.
When it was announced on Good Morning America yesterday, it was made obvious to everyone that Enrique was the supporting act. So, he dropped out. Big mistake.
Britney's last tour in 2009 generated $131 million dollars in revenue and we also heard that Enriwue was going to be paid quite a pretty penny....not pesos.
Plus, Enrique could have been upstaging her every night as he actually sings. Britney does something..not sure how live it is though.
The Britney tour will kick off in Sacramento, California June 17th. No replacement act has been named for Enrique yet.-Dr.FB
