PRINCE took over The Ivy, a club in Sydney, Australia where he performed into the wee hours of the morning with special guests Flavor Flav of Public Enemy and rocker Seal. You know when it comes to Prince, he is never done, and during the Welcome 2 Australia tour, he is proving it yet again.
Prince then performed in Melbourne and at the second show bringing out Flavor Flav again to rap "911 Is A Joke" and then later on, the leader of Public Enemy, Chuck D.
Chuck D. was tweeting during the show and after taking the stage with Prince that there is no one better in music now or then, than Prince. We couldn't agree more.
At the aftershow and the previous 2 concerts, Prince has performed a slowed down bluesy version of "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" a little bit of "Pheromone" a groove of "Dance Electric" and a long, sweaty, funky version of "Days Of Wild" that left concert goers with their mouths dropped.
It shows that Prince may just have been looking at the songs you were requesting here.
The band gets a 2 day break...well, already one day has passed, til they take over Brisbane and give them a good funkin.-DocFB
Last night, PRINCE performed an almost 25 minute version of the song he feels everyone should experience live, "Purple Rain", leaving Australian concertgoers in awe.
"Everybody should experience this song in concert at least once in their lives," he told TheFIX. "No one experience is the same."
Even though he hasn't taken the stage in Australia since 2003, he feels this trip will be the best because of his crew.
"These people are sooo much fun! We actually enjoy one another's company and it's reflected onstage every night."
He talks about songs that used to bore him performing. "It used to be 'Little Red Corvette' until we re-worked it into a slow blues," "It's hot now. A good example of song evolution over time. We actually know better what the song is about now."
Hmm. You mean it wasn't about a.....ahhh nevermind.
His favorite live music right now is Lianne La Havas, his guitarist Mr. (Andy) McKee, support act Delilah and Andy Allo. His all time favorite? Bass legend Larry Graham. "He reminds us all of what was great in the past. "Everyone who meets him has the same response. He's a kind man who is always encouraging. After a shred with him you feel like you can conquer anything."
Prince even brought up Madonna, one of the big 3 of music acts from the good ol' days, the 80's, and her success, although different than his. "Every artist approaches this from a different angle," "[Madonna] has actually become quite successful on her own terms.
He even talks proudly of his first and former record label Warner Bros.
"To us, [credibility] is all subjective. I started off primarily as a live performer, who mastered the studio at an early age by actually owning one.
"Warner Bros. granted rights unheard of at the time that allowed us the freedom to produce music unencumbered. Working without a net or a ceiling benefits us greatly. Thus, music became a real job, not a hobby.
Although Prince and Madonna are still around, 2 of the 80's biggest stars, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston unfortunately, are not.
When asked why he did not have a similiar fate, he asks the interviewer to watch a youtube clip of the author of "Eat, Pray, Love" Elizabeth Gilbert. We provided the video below.
"The music we create supports families and dreams. Both of which are quite big now."

The dates so far are Sydney at the Allphones Arena on May 11th , then in Melbourne May 14th at the Rod Laver Arena and then in Brisbane May 18that the Entertainment Centre. Although not confirmed, we have a feeling multiple shows will happen.
You have to give it up to the promoter for making this happen. We have been waiting for official confirmation for WEEKS and sometimes, that is not easy. I apologize for my delay but wanted to be extremely accurate and as you can see, we were able to get a 2nd date added for our patience.
Regardless, Australia is about to get rocked and funked up big time. It has been almost 10 years since Prince's last appearance in Australia and 21 years since he performed his first concert to amazing reviews.
You can't have a Prince tour without a few surprises. A Prince concert is not just a concert. It is an event. After his phenomenal Super Bowl Performance in 2007, Prince is the must see concert at the top of your bucket list.

Has it been bash Madonna for Lady Gaga recently? On the Much Music Awards, Lady Extravaganza was called the "Queen Of Pop" a title that Madonna was given and perhaps earned. A few weeks ago, Rolling Stone labeled her as "The Queen Of Pop" for the past decade. As Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance at the Neverland nightclub, the owner of the club slammed Madonna!
What did the Owner of the club say? READ REST OF ENTRY>>>>
Adam Lambert is in Sydney, Australia for Mardi Gras and also the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras there on Saturday.

Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens along with Zac's soul patch spent the weekend in Sydney, Australia.
Now for the people that will read something into that was nothing, when they got off the plane, they were not holding hands. Oh no!
I'm sorry, but after a long flight like that, I don't want to be touched by anyone, not even my significant other.
Give me some space and then when we get to the hotel, we will hold hands...and a little bit more and show you why it's called a soul patch and a flavor saver. Capeche?-Dr.FB
