Orianthi will perform on this week’s American Idol this Wednesday March 17th.

We broke the news exclusively on Friday to our Twitter Followers and our Facebook Fan Page  as Fox did not want to make the official announcement  on the site til Monday, so we snuck to our followers because they didn’t say we couldn’t.  :)

Orianthi will be performing “According To You” on the show, which is slowly creeping up the charts that used to matter, The Billboard Charts and is sitting at Number 17 right now.  She has been on Funkenberry Radio’s Top 21 for quite a while now.

When we interviewed Orianthi a few weeks back, she let us know that she recorded an updated version of “Stairway To Heaven” by led Zeppelin with Mary J. Blige and guitar God Steve Vai.

ALSO, Orianthi will be performing  on this Thursday’s “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and that performance should be hot as well. Janet Jackson will be a guest on the show.  As you all should know, Orianthi was due to play with Janet’s brother, Michael Jackson (You might have heard of him) before his untimely death.  She is all over the documentary “This Is It” which is now out on DVD.

Hope you enjoy the great photo of Orianthi and be sure to check out her rocking performance on “American Idol” this week to see why we are raving about this girl.  “This Is NOT It” for her for sure…..-Dr.FB

Video~Sarah Palin Does Stand-Up On Tonight Show

Posted in Entertainment, Politics, Television on March 3rd, 2010 by drfunkenberry

Sarah Palin was on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” last night and tried her hand at comedy by doing stand-up. Oh Lawd. Comparing Alaska to Los Angeles and talked about the Winter Olympics.

Jay set her up for softball questions during their Q n A such as being caught writing cliff notes on her hand during a speech.

Check out the video of Sarah Palin on The Tonight Show and let us know what you think.-Dr.FB

P.S., for the 2nd night in a row, Leno dominated Letterman in the ratings. Team Coco, where you at?

Conan Plays “Deal Or No Deal” Tonight Show Edition

Posted in Celebrity Gossip, Celebrity News, Entertainment, Television on January 13th, 2010 by drfunkenberry

Conan O’Brien played “Deal or No Deal” when it came to the “The Tonight Show” with Howie Mandell. Conan took a weird stab at Leno however.

On Leno’s show, he took a joke Conan used last Friday about the “Biggest Loser” and it wasn’t funny. Sooooo…..Conan gets our Late Night Clip of the day…..or is it clip of the night?

You know, back in the 90’s, when it was rumored Jay was going to get replaced by David Letterman, Leno got tough and got funny. This is what is happening to Conan. The past 2 nights have been killer material for Conan who took over the Tonight Show back in June without tough work ethic.

He has bite now. One has to hope it is not too little to late. A comedian who is bitter and has something to prove is better than any happy comedian with nothing on the line anytime.-Dr.FB

Breaking News: Jay Leno Back to Late Night

Posted in Celebrity News, Entertainment, Television on January 7th, 2010 by drfunkencherry

We just learned that beginning February 1, 2010, Jay Leno will be taking back his old 11:30pm time slot on NBC.

This is what Jay’s been hoping for all along as his 10pm show has not done well, and audiences don’t seem to be bonding with Conan’s Tonight Show.

What’s unclear at this point is what will happen to Conan O’Brien. Will Jay’s 11:30pm show be short, followed by Conan? Or will Conan be ousted altogether and Jay will resume his original Tonight Show duties? More details to come.

TMZ reports that Jay and Conan have both been informed of the change.

What do you guys think? Happy to see Jay coming back or are you rooting for Conan to stay where he is? – Dr.FB

More Info On Prince & Montreux

Posted in Celebrity News, Entertainment, Music on July 1st, 2009 by drfunkenberry
Drfunkenberry.com Exclusive Photo Of Prince

Drfunkenberry.com Exclusive Photo Of Prince

We just got word that Prince has rehearsed the 3 players: John Blackwell, Rhonda Smith and Renato Neto for 2 weeks now and taught them new and old material alike as well as a few covers.  Sounds cool.

Prince is using a smaller crew these days to allow space for the audience to properly hear his favorite players right now.

We are being told that Prince will, of course be featured on guitar throughout the concert but mainly this year his goal is to showcase his sometimes overlooked vocal abilities.

Hence the stripped down vibe of this crew.

As shown on his most recent performance on the Tonight Show, Prince feels he is improving as a vocalist and has taken the time to re-work arrangements to showcase his gift.

Some tunes will just feature Renato on piano and Prince on vocals.  He is Prince’s favorite pianist and as a fan of his work, it’s a treat for him just listening to Renato every night without any audible distraction.

Prince has also been listening alot to new jazz star Esperanza Spalding.  He attended her concert in St. Paul, Minnesota recently and she and her impressive band came over to Prince’s Paisley Park Studio for a tour and jam session that lasted til sunrise.  Now that’s hot!  He loves to play with her and always teases he will join her band one day when he’s good enough. Ha! BTW, she is a must see if you ever y’ll get the chance.

In addition to Esperanza, Prince is a big fan of  Ana Moura. Her command of an audience is very impressive.  She has a strong voice that radiates sensuality.  Accompanied by 3 musicians when Prince saw her, Ana was a template as well as Esperanza for Prince’s new approach to performance.

Awesome news. Let’s hope this concert makes it’s way to the United States soon!-Dr.FB

Ed McMahon Passes Away

Ed McMahon Passes Away. File Photo

Ed McMahon passed away shortly after midnight today.  Ed has been fighting cancer as well as other problems in the past 2 years.  Ed was more than just Johnny Carson’s sidekick on the Tonight Show.

Ed, a TV legend, fell on hard times the 2 years but was able to get stuff handled to where a rep for his family said he was at peace when he died.

That is nice to hear because Ed is a Hollywood legend and it was sad to see him go through hard times so late in life.

Ed McMahon, thank you for being you and you will be missed.-Dr.FB

Video: Twittering With Conan

Posted in Celebrity News, Entertainment on June 3rd, 2009 by drfunkenberry

Twittering is all the rage, even Conan knows that. Although he makes it look pretty silly here, it shows it’s power to do a Tonight Show skit on it that seems like it will be a recurring theme on the show.

Hope you like it.  Also, hope you follow me on TWITTER-Dr.FB
