Prince’s New Website To Be Unveiled Tonight!

And Tonight, the unveiling…
More prized than a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory are the invitations granted for tonight’s unveiling of Prince’s latest galactic web project, lotusflow3r.com . Press invitees include Steve Appleford of Rolling Stone; Benjamin Trott from Six Apart; Kat Corbett from KROQ; Danny Shea and Katherine Thomson, music and entertainment editors from The Huffington Post; Emily McKay from NME and Edna Gunderson of USA Today. Also invited to the secret soiree are 3 select Purple Ticket winners, whose names have been withheld to protect what’s left of their innocence.
The plan since the beginning has been to show the work to the press today, while anticipation builds for the official opening. Following the special preview, guests will be treated to an hour-long concert in the funkiest house in the Hills. After that, we hear the band plans to crash Clive Davis’ party with an Alicia Keys joint they’ve rearranged.
With a beginning like this, no doubt this year is about to be stellar!

Plan has been to show it to the press today????? Then why say “January 2009″ on the site publically for almost a month???? DR. FB – in your previous post on Prince and his LA whereabouts you also stated “the site is scheduled to open in January”….. Cool things are moving up, but if the site doesn’t open in the next few hours, it’ll leave hordes of people with mixed feelings.

Wow, another preview launched with some new music and a sneak peek at the actual site. And I thought Prince would leave us unsatisfied tonight… It’s a pity the full site isn’t up yet, but the new promo plus the upcoming press reports should keep us drooling for the next couple of days.
I am disappointed. The site was supposed 2 open 2night.
Well, I just checked and the site is starting to change over. You can click the TV, load the cassette player with some new songs!! Just shows a smokey background for now…
Mixed feelings to say the least. After a month of buzz he really only releases one new track. Fans are excited about ‘Another Boy’. Don’t you lot remember that around the time ‘Turn Me Loose’ got leaked, this was available to purchase on itunes. I have it on my pc! ‘Colonized Mind’ sounds the same don’t know where people are saying that there are differences because i can’t hear it, still one of his best songs ever. ‘Disco Jellyfish’ is really fun and funky but i feel ‘MPLSOUND’ isn’t the album title no more. A blank disco jellyfish website is black just like 3121.com gives ya a hint. But really so far really disapointed. Thought at least today we would of been able to buy ‘Lotus Flow3r’ and have a fully functional site, this is basically a preview site again. I’ve only had 2 hours sleep at the moment and its now 5:00am in LDN; only still on because of the rumour of a concert stream tonight. If that happens then i and many other friends (remember his doesnt like the word fans) of his music will be truly grateful. x
Forgot to mention love the whole spooky style to it and the meanings of the piece of broken road, tapes etc. It is a nice design !

Like the interactive graphics of the site much more interesting than “click this link” especially the t.v. and tape deck. I’d like to see more of what’s showing on the t.v. very intriguing.

The Guitar Solo in DiscojellyFish reminds me of Shortberry Strawcake. Cool song but makes me wonder if this will be on the MPLSoun album along with choco Box as Discojelly is an instrumental version of that song.
