Prince is about to embark on his "Welcome 2 Canada" tour and in advance, he has released a new song "Extraloveable" now on sale through I-Tunes Canada.

Don't you wanna take a bath with Prince?

The song clocks in at just 5 minutes long and features the lovely and talented Andy Allo (&Y) and for the hardcore Prince fan, this song is very intriguing.

"Extraloveable" was originally recorded in the early 80's by Prince and is one of his most popular bootlegged songs of all time.  It seems Prince is going through his vault at his recording studios, Paisley Park, for material and surprising many fans who thought this song would never be released.

The song has been newly recorded this year so I guess you can call it "Extraloveable 2011" if you want.

The song is being released by Universal Music Group in Canada, however, we feel it is through Live Nation who struck the deal for Prince.

Prince must have major love for the Canadian fans to release something like this before his tour kicks off there.  Funky!

Check out a sample of the track below:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The track can ONLY be purchased on Canadian I-Tunes Right now.

We also hear Prince has more surprises for Cananda so stay tuned!

What do you think of "Extraloveable" by Prince?-DocFB

Diagnosis:  Prince is Extraloveable isn't he?

I love Prince's music, its funny, when I was a little child I used to love MJ over Prince, but when I became a teenager and really started getting into Prince, I believed then that Prince is the greatest musical artist of all time followed of course by MJ...love them both tho...Regarding Extraloveable, the original is definitely better and much more lively and energetic, and don't forget the famous line: "Dez...do you like MY band?" in that young, sarcastic fun loving Prince voice!!! (Dez Dickerson left the band around that time when the original was recorded)

I had a change of heart. I don't get the rap but the song slams. Prince still got it.

I finally heard this song and man what the fuck was THAT?! I never talk real bad about Prince's music but this song, man I'm sorry this is truly the worst thing I've heard Prince do. Most of the diehards have or have heard the original Extralovable and this song is just a very pale version of the original. In fact, why didnt he just release that one and change certain words instead? I'm just at a loss of words right now. The funk is totally evaporated from this song and what the fuck was that rap all about by who that Andy girl? Man Prince, yo ass is slipping with this one. Shame on U! A disgrace

If this song wasn't WHACK there wouldn't be a Loser yelling at fans to get the hell off this site. The new version is whack. The rap is corny as hell so get a grip and lay off the Purple Koolaid. Pro Fan says it's whack.

I saw Prince on Saturday November 26th in Toronto and it was like a 2 and a half hour dance party!!! He didn't play his new single but it didn't matter. He was AMAZING!!!

Wasn't saying he should do the same stuff he did in the past, actually, and believe it or not I'm one of those people who actually likes some of his newer music too - I actually like some stuff from 20Ten, Planet Earth, so on and so forth. But he should leave the past stuff alone and stop altering it or tampering with it and just move forward. Especially when it was good stuff. Why try to fix what isn't broken. If you dig the new version, fine - but for me it's a definite pass and all the yammering about it in the world isn't gonna make me change my views about that. If he wanted to really release Extraloveable, he should've just remastered the original and put it out. It would've sold like hotcakes at a fat farm.

Oh and I absolutely agree with what "Purple Rain" said. Prince has evolved over the years, and that is a great thing!! Why expect him to do the same things he did more than 25 years ago? He is better now in many ways ... different, and still extra special and uncomparable! U rock Prince!!!!

I can only say - oh yes, Doc, Prince is definitely extraloveable!!!

Purple Rain

I love the new version as well as the old. Unless, he plans on giving up being a Jehovah Witness, then we must accept the fact that he no longer has the same mindset/views/values or what have you, as he did back in the 70's, 80's and part of the 90's. People evolve over the years and that includes Prince. I just enjoy him for who he was back then and for who is now in 21st century. If you have and love the original then enjoy it and move on!!! Prince still kicks a$$ and Extraloveable 2011 rocks!!

The original was perfect - why mess with perfection?!!! WHY, PRINCE, WHYYYYY?!!!!!!! He pretty much took out or changed everything that makes the original so badass.

When I hear this song, I think of it how I would a live version of an album track, u just can't compare the two, the original was funky and deserves to see an album release (maybe a Crystal Ball 2?) but considering with his JH beliefs, I'm surprised he's released this song, even if it is re-recorded. While the song may be suggestive, Prince has never disrespected women, so I can't really call his songs nasty. But this is a flavor we haven't heard in awhile, it has a groove all it's own. Like I said it's like hearing a live version of an album track, though it's still not the same sound, it's still a funky groove. I hope he starts releasing more from his vaults though. Even if re-recorded. I see this song as the paternal twin of the original. I like 'em both. Sure it's not the original, but who cares. I like the new vibe too

When I first heard it, I was disappointed that it didn't sound more like the original (slower tempo, lyric changes, etc). But, the more I listen to it, the more I dig it. The funky breakdown at the end is SICK! Bottom line: Prince lives in the moment, not in the past. So, even if the title of a song is familiar to us, the sound and vibe are guaranteed to be new and different. That's the way it is. If you don't dig it, pull out the original track and listen to that instead. I, for one, happen to love both versions!

This is cool. It'll never touch the original one, but it's good nonetheless. *shrugs*.

And you Ken, are a fam. I wager to bet that Prince's unreleased gems mastertapes or demo tapes, cassettes he handed out, actual GREAT music from back in the Warners years were either erased, re-recorded over, tossed or the hands of time have destroyed the mastertapes in the "Vault". What you may have heard on those tapes may ONLY exist in that form. Thats just one take. The other is that I read over and over how certain -Nancies or Idiots as you put it, live in the past and need to accept Prince living or working in the NOW. Now... doesn't this and the thrashing of We Can Funk evidence that Prince revisits the past? The other issue is that religious dogma gets in the way. You should have realized by now that there will be no remasters or special edition multi-disc sets of Prince's classic work because of the content. Do you really think he'd remaster Dirty Mind, Controversy and include songs like Tick? Or how about the Camille album as an additional disc in a SOTT/Crystal Ball set with Feel U Up... long stroke? Or The Cross! Do you really think Prince will sit there with a proper remastering engineer and accept the lyrics with all his Jehovahsness? Thank you. And we're not even considering his issues with ownership of his Warner Brothers catalog. You think he'd want them to continue making money off his work? Prrfft. No. The points I'm making are two - that these re-makes are an attempt at cleaning up the originals, cleansing them and secondly, to take any profits away from Warner Bros. Records by recording them and getting the "lion's share" of the profits on the song. Prince is very clever. I can point out several other ways he's made profit, which at this point, is what matters, like selling a million albums to a newspaper but none to a fan... but hey. Its his music, he can do what he wants and should. I'm just pointing out that if you think you're appreciated oh boy... think again. The sad effed up part of it is... what is the sad part of it? Hmmm, maybe that the general public at this point only knows him for Purple Rain... or Kiss... and thats it. Top 40 fans and a scant few of what he's barely got - fams. And you're one of them.

Idiots and Negative Nancys... get over it! If any of you have followed or kept up with Prince and his new views on lyrics in his music, you would understand that he's not gonna release the old version or re-record it like back in the day. Rare is the fan that can appreciate how he is actually revisiting his old songs (THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN OFFICALLY RELEASED) and re-recorded some of them for us to hear! Bootlegs were never meant to be heard -- do you f'n realize that? Consider yourself lucky that you were able to hear such songs in the first place and be appreciative that he actually even considered to re-record a song that was created way back in 1982! Most Prince fans are some of the most pathetic, critical, unappreciative people ever. Ridiculous of these F's to even dare to criticize when most of them couldn't write a song or play a few chords on an instrument if their life depended on it.

NO. The ORIGINAL. THE ORIGINAL. What is this? This is Jehovah Witness crappery. The ORIGINAL was THE Jam... when you had the Mojo with a capital M. Warners still owns the original you say? Hey, they can probably get U on BRANDING right?

Like that retort Aijahlon! lmao I am not hatin I have much love for the man Prince .And I have made it very clear on many various places ,sites & times about how much I love the original version of "ExtraLoveable" Just because he decides to re-record it doesn't mean that I have to choke it down and put a fake smile on my face.I respect him as I would any friend by being honest!By not telling him it is Fabulous when it is really just a polished turd!He may not like what I have to say nor care...but then again if you don't then what or who is your music for?All I can say is that The new Original 7ven album did set a bar and I listen to the ENTIRE album on repeat! That says what? ;)

Re: Haters need to get the hell off this site. Actually, most of the so called 'haters' here are anything but. They love Prince and know what he is capable of that's why its frustrating... The sycophants that praise his every fart are the ones doing damage, Prince has had too many Yes men in his career and his career has suffered as a result..... I love Prince and I know what he can do, that's only why I and many others comment.....we want the world to see what a talent he is by showing us his best work....

To: Haters need to get the hell off this site. I've been a Prince fan since 1981, but I still know sucky ass shit when I hear it. If you think this song slams, then you must also like green eggs and ham, and If the 80s Prince is gone, someone should tell him, so he'll leave great songs from the 80s alone. THAT'S WHAT TIME IT IS!

Haters need to get the hell off this site.
Haters need to get the hell off this site.

The haters can kiss my ass if they don't like this song because it SLAMS. Go find another artist you LOVE and can COMPLIMENT on a regular basis if Prince doesn't do it for you anymore. You people that call yourselves Prince fans, yet bash him repeatedly, are sad little haters. And some of you clones wonder why I am not and will not ever be your "friend." ALAN nailed it: 80s Prince is gone. GET OVER IT. How can you fools criticize the one artist who has repeatedly said he doesn't care about critics?? HELL-O. He doesn't care what people think. He will do whatever he wants, when, and HOW he wants. How hard is it for you knuckleheads to realize that?? Go ahead and bash ME all you want, I don't give a shit. Your misery and pathetic retaliations can't touch me. THAT'S WHAT TIME IT IS.

Btw. what happened to Crystal Ball 2? I would pay large amounts of money for that. No re-recording necessary (please!). Just remaster the vault and - as the band formerly known as The Time said - release it. Easy money for Prince & a dream come true for fans, classic win-win situation :)

This is the most obscene abomination of a truly original song, that is I think, just trash, what possessed (!) you to re-do a classic song in such a way, with a disgusting, degeneratized female "rap", this has become such a shallow song, and I'm complimenting you by considering it a song. Will sit really well next to the world's most necessary remixes coming out sOOn. Please leave Electric Intercourse as it is, hell, don't even remember it. What's next, the "Rave un2 the joy fanPLASTIC"-version of Wally? Yours truly

It’s OK but Isn’t a remake supposed to better than the original? The tempo is slowed down, the autotune on his voice aint funky, and the sesame street rap by Andy Allo…WTH! Why would he do this to a classic?

That being said, Prince has really F*d up a few songs with his attempts at rap. I haven't heard the new version all the way - just the sample. Aijahllon, you scare me with the rap section added. How did you listen to the entire track, are you from Canada?
