N.W.A.’s Bio “Straight Outta Compton” Names Its Director
The N.W.A. bio "Straight Outta Compton" has found its director and those familiar with Ice Cube's "Friday" movie and "It Was A Good Day" video, the director should sound familiar.
F. Gary Gray will take the helm on the bio, beating out John Singleton who directed Cube in "Boyz N The Hood" and Elgin James. Gray was in the running to direct "Captain America 2" for Marvel pictures, but has dropped out to do the N.W.A. bio.
The cast has yet to be announced but a release date of April 14th, 2014 has been set.-DocFB

Coachella 2012 Line-up Released! Doesn’t Impress The Doc

The official Coachella line up was released today with Radiohead, The Black Keys, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dog and Pulp being announces as acts for the festival. To me, it is not very impressive.
To be honest, it is hard to sell me on festivals because....I'm a diva. I don't want to be up against some sweaty people, even if it would allow me to see Jarvis Cocker and Pulp rock it out. At The Drive In returns after an 11 year absence and that still is not enough.
This year, the festival extends to 2 weekends. 2 weekends of overpriced water and food items. Woo hoo! Ahem. Not really.
Radiohead has never done it for me. I have tremendous respect for The Black Keys...just not enough to justify putting up with a Coachella crowd. Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre together again. Still....not enough.
Perhaps if I was hooked up by Goldenvoice and had use of its private facilities, I would enjoy it. For those that know the Doc well...i can be somewhat cockshy...or pee shy when it comes to having to use a port a potty. Again, I know I am a diva. I didn't even attend Coachella when Prince rocked it.
Are you guys impressed with the Coachella line up of 2012?-DocFB

Classic MTV Awards Performance; Eminem & Dr. Dre
It is hard to believe that it has been over a decade since Eminem was brought on to rap scene by Dr. Dre. His very first MTV Video Music Awards performance showed that Eminem was here to stay. The next night, he rocked the Gibson Ampithetre in L.A. with Dre and was my first time seeing Eminem electrify a crowd.
Not only did he perform "My Name Is" and "Guilty Conscience" and "Nothing But A "G" Thang" with Dre and Snoop Dog, he walked away with the best new artist that night. Unlike the Grammy's, MTV got it right that night.
Check out this classic performance by Eminem featuring Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dog.-Dr.FB

Skylar Grey: From Eminem To Dre To American Idol To Record Contract
Skylar Grey may sound familiar to you. She sang the hook "To Love The Way You Lie" with Eminem at the Grammys last month and also sings the hook to "I Need A Doctor" the first track from Dr. Dre in almost 10 years. She has also recorded with Lupe Fiasco on his latest hit.
She was signed to Interscope Records last week and with that, also performed with Diddy Dirty Money on American Idol.
Instead of that, we rather share with you Skylar's demo to "I Love The Way You Lie" as she is recording her debut album as we speak.
Skyar had this to say; "
"Getting to perform on television with Eminem and Dr. Dre still doesn’t feel real to me and now to perform with Diddy-Dirty Money in the course of a month is unreal,” said Grey. “I'm really excited about the opportunity to perform on Idol. It's incredible to have all of this leading into my album coming this year - I am so fortunate."
We are digging her vocals at the Dr.'s office and are looking forward to hearing more from her.-Dr.FB
