ICYMI: Trombone Shorty, Janelle Monae, & Gary Clark Jr. Funk Up The NBA All-Star Game Half-Time Show!
Trombone Shorty made sure to bring that New Orleans FUNK to the NBA All-Star Game Half-Time Show with Janelle Monae, Gary Clark Jr., Doctor John, and Earth, Wind, & Fire. It was a great performance!
It was an all-star line-up fitting for the NBA All-Star Game!
We LOVE the exposure Gary Clark Jr. is getting and it is always great to see Janelle Monae on our TV screen! The "Electric Lady" took advantage of the time given for sure jamming with EWF!-DocFB
Diagnosis: Thanks to Verdine White for wearing a jacket to cover up the tightest pants in the business! #nomalecameltoe
Andy Allo's performance of "People Pleaser" aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live and it was as funky on TV as it was live in person.
Unlike the video version, the live performance features Maceo Parker and Trombone Shorty.
I do not know when her performance of "If I Was King" will air yet. We imagine sometime soon.
There is some funk all over that CD. Check it out after watching "People Pleaser" above.-DocFB
Diagnosis: "Time To Raise Your Hand...."
Don't miss Jimmy Kimmel LIVE tomorrow night 11/20 as Andy Allo will be performing on the show.
Maceo Parker and Trombone Shorty along with the NPG will be backing double A up.
The songs scheduled to be performed will be "People Pleaser" and "If I Was King" from her new album "Superconductor" which will be released the same day on I-Tunes and Amazon. "People Pleaser" will be sure to air.
Wonder who she is pointing at during her performance of "People Pleaser".....hmm.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Great performances.....
Ledisi took to her Facebook page today to tell her about hanging with Prince and him introducing the music of Andy Allo to her.
Ledisi seemed impressed what she heard as we did a couple of months ago.
For what Ledisi had to say about Andy and the release date of "Superconductor", click on the continue reading button below.
Andy Allo took to V101.1 FM In Sacramento with Big Al this morning, previewing new tracks from "Superconductor" and who worked on the CD with her, including Prince, Maceo Parker, Trombone Shorty, and others.
They talked all about that and more....all on one mic!!! The station has been moving buildings and did not have everything hooked up.
The songs previewed were "People Pleaser", "Superconductor", and "When Our Worlds Collide" and talked about making the record.
Big Al did want to pry a bit and ask what's going on with her and Prince. Andy said that he is a really good friend who surprised her by showing up in the studio in Sacramento while she is finishing up the CD.
It was nice to hear Andy talk about the experience making the CD and talking about touring with Prince & The NPG. I feel this was a great side to see and hear from her.
Here are a few clear sound clips from the show we were sent;
Someone caught the entire interview, which took place over 90 minutes, below. The clip below, the audio is not as clear as above but it does feature songs from "Superconductor" and a few other small clips.
Check out the lovely and talented Miss Andy Allo and say it with us...."Superconductor"...spell it out. Big Al. Just playing man! Thanks for everything.-DocFB
ANDY ALLO's 2nd CD entitled "Superconductor" will be released early this summer. The CD contains 6 self-penned tracks and 3 songs co-written with Prince.
The 3 songs written with Prince are "Superconductor", "The Calm", and "Gone".
Special guests on the CD so far include Maceo Parker, Trombone Shorty, The NPG, The Hornheadz and of course-PRINCE, who also executive produced the record.
The CD is in the final stages of post-production but we have a sample provided to us exclusively by Miss Allo-herself of one of the songs Prince featured on his most recent tour of Europe.
You heard it here 1st!
Funky! That has to be Maceo Parker on that track!
What do you think of "People Pleaser" by Andy Allo?-DocFB
Diagnosis: Go on, "Take Your Time....."
Lenny Kravitz loves New Orleans and the oil disaster is not going to change that. In fact, Lenny is trying to help with the situation any way he can.
Last week, he visited with fisherman trying to save the fish as well as workers trying to clean up the mess. Lenny is not afraid to get his hands dirty for the people and the city he loves.
"Lenny is dedicating his life to this right now. He loves this place and will continue to do what he can to help."
And if they haven't yet, people should download the Gulf Aid single "It Ain't My Fault" Lenny did with Mos Def, Trombone Shorty & the Preservation Hall Jazz Band on iTunes.
Here is the video below:
Keep on doing what you are doing Lenny. We appreciate it and you.-Dr.FB
