EMINEM will on at the MTV VMA's tonight! Will it be a performance or appearance tonight for the rapper though?
— Marshall Mathers (@Eminem) August 25, 2013
He made the announce via Twitter less than an hour ago.
UPDATE: HE DEBUTED A NEW SONG IN A COMMERCIAL FOR HEADPHONES...
A lot of people on Twitter were asking who NSYNC was when it started flying they would be on the MTV VMA's. Why do we have a feeling no one is going to be asking who EMINEM is?-DocFB
Diagnosis: EMINEM has not made an award show performance since 2011.
Katy Perry has arrived on the red carpet for the MTV Video Music Awards in a leopard print dress!
We get cool points taken away for using "Roar" in the headline. We already know that.
This is the first year that the award show is at Barclay's in Brooklyn and the red carpet appears to be very close to the fans! So close and rocking the bright lipstick, they stick out as much as much as Katy's dress.
Diagnosis: Katy hinted she is bringing her cats with her to the VMA's...so expect a few tigers on stage with her at the show....
Robin Thicke will be performing "Blurred Lines" on the MTV VMA's along with Katy Perry performing "Roar" and Miley Cyrus performing "We Can't Stop" on the show.
They join already announced performers Lady Gaga and Kanye West.
The new category "Song Of The Summer" will feature Thicke and Cyrus going to head to head along with Daft Punk, One Direction, Selena Gomez, and Calvin Harris with Ellie Goulding.
Interesting that Thicke is performing on the show since he stood in for Daft Punk on The Colbert Report last week since Daft Punk is supposed to be a surprise performer on the award show. MTV does not like anyone performing on anyone's show at least a month leading up to the show. So anyone who performed on the Teen's Choice Awards on Sunday will not be asked to perform on the MTV VMA's.
Stupid rule I must say and hurts the artists and fans.-DocFB
Diagnosis: So who will MTV give the "Song Of The Summer" award to? "Blurred Lines" is the song of the summer by radio play alone. Yet we know that is not how MTV works so will most likely give it to Daft Punk. Oh well. At least the performances should be good!
Add Kanye West to the list of MTV Video Music Award performers for this years show on August 25th! Previously, only Lady Gaga had been announced for the award show.
MTV had this to say about Kanye performing on the VMA's:
"Kanye will triumphantly enter the history books by tying Madonna as the artist with the most VMA performances.”
We are looking forward to the show...and other performers being announced for the show....-DocFB
Diagnosis: Will Kanye's performance of "Black Skinhead" be a more memorable MTV VMA performance than "Vogue" by Madonna? Tune in August 25th to find out....
OK since no one else will say it, I don't know who looked older; Chelsea Handler or Lindsay Lohan.
Regardless, Chelsea owned the MTV Awards. Aside from a dove gaff, she was on and kept the show flowing all night.-Dr.FB
It's hard to have a most talked about moment at an award show with a ballad unless your being held up by ropes n such ala Pink, but Taylor Swift did just that last night.
Dedicating a song to Kanye West who did you know what to her last year. The song "Innocent" was a statement letting the world know that moment should not define him.
People say oh what he did was not that bad but let's keep in mind, that was her first ever VMA win and the age she is. It's not like jumping on stage and telling Eminem off. On that note, I still don't think what he did was that bad to deserve the media coverage he got.
So what do you think? If Taylor can forgive Kanye, should we get over it already?-Dr.FB
Lady Gaga, who is about to go on tour with Kanye West, talked about the incident at the MTV VMA's 2 weeks ago in a recent radio interview in Las Vegas and she defended Kanye.
"I would say he’s a good guy and everybody makes mistakes, and he feels so f—ing bad. He really does, he really feels bad.”
“If you listen to the radio right now, with the exception of myself, really, and, like, probably Taylor Swift, Kanye is responsible for everything we’re listening to. Everyone likes to focus on gossip, but he’s changed music and he’s really prolific and an incredible person, and I think it’s unfair to judge somebody on one mistake they’ve made.”
“He’s really kind of shown me a lot, as a friend, planning this tour — it’s all about the fans … I felt like that moment really portrayed him in a way that he really isn’t. It was just a random moment.”
I don't think Lady Gaga would lie so I do think she believes this but it is also damage control for the suits promoting the tour. They are worrying for nothing. This tour entitled "Fame Kills" is going to sell out no problem and be a success.
What do you think? Is Lady Gaga right about forgiving Kanye and that he feels really bad or damage control?-Dr.FB
With what happened on Sunday, it brings a question to mind; Does Kayne West know the difference between good attention and bad attention or does he just know attention and is an attention whore?
No one in their right mind would want the attention Kanye is getting, except for someone who wants attention, no matter if it is good or bad. I mean the President of the United States of America called him a jack ass. Jay Leno cracked that George W. Bush said that "Kanye doesn't care about white people" and the audience laughed.
3 days later, the incident is still being talked about by me and others. Patrick Swayze passed away but all everyone seems focused on is Kanye. For everyone, they would hate attention like this, but does Kanye. He has NEVER been talked about this much. Kanye has done this crap before, but for himself. Whining when he does not win something. Boasting we don't know just how brilliant he is.
His desire for attention is almost as big as ego to let everyone know he is the greatest of all time no matter what he does. So if he did this all for attention, even if he is sincere for hurting Taylor Swift in the process, maybe Kanye is brilliant. People who think this is going to kill Kanye's career, it's not going to happen. Kanye has talent, but his ego needs to land back on earth.
I put the question to you now.
Did he do it all for attention? Does Kanye know the difference between good attention and bad attention? Is this really going to stop you from listening to his music? Let me know.-Dr.FB
