24 Mar Prince’s Lotusflow3r is About To Explode!
A PRINCE cd back in the day was an event and tonight will be no different.
At 7:07 P.M. PST Lotusflow3r.com goes live and what happens at that time will be “epic”. Everyone should be watching at exactly 7:07 P.M. PST
Prince’s new 3 cd set which includes his new protege will be on Lotusflow3r.com tonight, which is also Prince’s return to the web of having a whole new galaxy for fans to explore.
The long wait will be over for fans as the site is set to debut tonight at 7:07 P.M. Pacific Time The galaxy will include the 3 new cd’s along with 2 new videos from Prince, Crimson & Clover & Chocolate Box and the new one from Bria Valente, Everytime.
Scott Addison Clay shared with us the video for Chocolate Box but instead of describing it, we will wait for you to see it when it debuts tonight. There will be hours and hours of full screen videos and photos. There are also bells and whistles that are unlocked with Prince trivia. You can play the guitar called Sonny named after Sonny T.
Trust me, at 7:07 P.M. tonight, I will have my credit card handy to pay the $77 dollar annual membership fee.

Posted at 15:28h, 25 MarchI’m more confused today. I went to the bank and have three charges for $77 and one for $01. I’m hoping I paid for one membership and two tickets. No clue and no way of finding out. I’m really confused by the charge for .01.

Lotusflow3r charged me at least 5x 77$ and VISA said I have to pay that.
All I got from Lotusflow3r was the error message: Our system had a problem processing your signup…

I understand the European Credit Card problem is still running ( at least in Paris )
Based on all those comments i tried sign up trough Firefox
no problem going trhough the steps but same message of “Verifying your Information’ every single time !
anyway got to thank the good Doc F , i m not worried they will solve this mess real soon . thanks to u i was informed about the CC problem .

Posted at 10:39h, 25 MarchI agree whole-heartedly with Spiderstu. I’ve been an art director and designer on digital/web projects for several years, and solid project management and beta testing are essential and common place.
I’m sure Prince and his team are stressed about the current state of the site too – hope things get sorted soon, for everyone’s sanity.
Seeing as I have yet to access any content from the site, I’m hoping support get back to me informing me of my refund.

Posted at 10:10h, 25 MarchBeing practical for a moment, it looks like Lotusflow3r.com is a good idea, but not necessarily well executed.
As an IT project manager I would suspect that there was a lack of adequate testing (why wasn’t this public beta tested?), poor or non existent quality management, and probably a lack of tracked requirements leading to issues with browsers and downloads.
This isn’t rocket science, there are well established processes for managing implementations like these. I suspect that there was too much focus on the graphical/musical content.
It’s a nightmare when disasters happen, because then you have a huge support and clean-up effort packed into zero available hours because resolution is required by customers instantly. Best to avoid this kind of thing from the outset.
On personal level I’m mourning the loss of my $77.
If anyone from lotusflow3r.com needs help with any of this perhaps they should give and experienced IT project manager a call…..we’re always happy to help!

You think this is not annoying for all those ppl who are working on the site or for P himself!!? I never had the illusion that things like this go smoothly. Always going to be some hiccups 😉

I’ve paid, logged in briefly once, but can’t log back in because the ticket part of the site does not like the characters in my username, while the signup / payment part was fine with it. I was also meant to get a confirmation email with my username etc. on it.
I do hope it gets sorted soon, if not, surely I can get a refund, because I have been refused login on the very day I paid to gain access.
Again, I wouldn’t be posting all this here, if I knew what email address I should contact.
For now all I can do is guess it’s something like support@lotusflow3r.com…but that’s a guess.

The videos do not work – way too choppy, and the “exclusive pics” are just from the “21 Nights” book.
Prince, you dropped the ball again. People don’t want to play games with a website, they want info and entertainment. Your manager needs to be fired or have his head examined.
To all those who say “be patient” – no, I will not. I paid for a service and I expect it to work. If it was free, I’d be patient.
3121.com was his best site – it provided news and content. LotusFlow3r is useless beyond the music downloads.

Posted at 07:38h, 25 MarchWell, I’m in Europe. I figured out the initial code to unlock the site using the tv and radio.
I then chose a screen name and password and entered all my details along with CC numbers, and everything went through just fine, first time. So I guess those issues must have been taken care of – WELL DONE to the web team for turning things around. Good stuff.
Payment goes through, and I enter the galaxy. Clicked around for a few minutes, looks very interesting, but my PC was running slow, so I restarted.
This was a big mistake, because now the site won’t let me login. The screen name I chose has an underscore in it. The registration area allowed me to include an underscore with my screen name, but the ticket you use to actually login, DOES NOT.
The inconsistency there has resulted in me having no access to the site despite having paid for it.
I don’t know what email address to send this into, I wasn’t on the lotus site for very long. Is there a support email address?

I am obeying the instructions ‘do not click the back button or close your browser’ for fear of being charged more than once. Wish the LotusFlow3r team would reply to emails or make some sort of contact.

so i at least got to download the 3 albums. but i was even more sad i couldn’t download “crimson and clover” wondering why it’s not on the album. hMmM….
