PRINCE’s new song “Rock & Roll Love Affair” debuted on an Iheart Radio station in Chicago this morning.

We were sent the photo above to post with the new song.

Rumor has it a video was shot for the song the same day that he shot “People Pleaser” with Andy Allo at his Paisley Park Studios earlier this month.

    It does sound as though Prince is tinkering with several different ideas rather than committing to one authentic idea. But Prince’s tinkering is much better than most artists’ best stuff. Even Prince at 54 cannot be Prince at 24…

    I love Prince, he can play so jazzy, funky, R&B, bluesy, rockn roll and then he puts out this song which is just bland. Like a painting by numbers. Also Prince should reconsider the hairdo, afro is fine but this looks like a wig. The sunglasses don’t suit him.

    Thanks doc, yeah this song is different and 4 me a new style…..i hope the whole album sounded like this new tune….very good voice….and sings in a other style…love it…..move on mr.purple yoda. We R here….where R U ? MB

    So many people kill me when they say “I want the old Prince”. The irony is that this song is very much reminiscent of the “old Prince. Prince’s midwestern roots does include some country on top of rhythm and blues and this song is him getting back to his roots. People should listen to “When You Were Mine”, “Gotta Broken Heart Again”, “So Blue” and “Still Waiting” and you’ll hear those influences. Not every song Prince does has to include a drum machine and racy lyrics for it to be funky.

    I like the Music, (not the lyrics) but. I wish he’d stop writing songs about the women he’s trying to help in the business (and don’t last or make it), & is dating for the moment. Love U, Love U Baby, don’t want no “CONTROVERSY” & i’m not trying to be RUDE.
