It appears a new PRINCE album entitled "HITNRUN" is about to come out. 3RDEYEGIRL band members appeared on BBC6 radio this morning with details.

In a recorded phone interview, 3RDEYEGIRL drummer Hannah Welton talks about "This Could Be Us" (a new version from his previous Art Official Age album) produced by Joshua Welton. Hannah also describes "A "1,000 Hugs & Kisses" which will be on "The Hit & Run" album as "a super, slow jam, dope feel good love song."

"Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky.

"It's weird, there's a lot of experimental sound. It's just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound."-3RDEYEGIRL

"Everything happens really fast here," the band said. "When an idea comes... it's translated to the musicians or whoever's working on it and then recorded and laid down relatively quick and then it's put out."

"It's definitely something we're thinking is going to be released right away, it's just not been nailed down yet.
"I can't wait for everybody to get this album, it's going to be amazing.
"It's definitely in discussion, so as soon as we get those details I'm sure we'll announce it and get it out to everybody immediately."

It appears Hannah's interview is just a snippet that BBC Radio has obtained and we can expect a longer version along with 3RDEYEGIRL members Donna Grantis and Ida Neilsen soon.

Also the album was played in it's entirety at a private party recently for the POTUS, President Barack Obama.

"HARDROCKLOVER" will also be featured on the new album and is the leadoff single.-DocFB

  1. I think the “ain’t no rapper tryna be a singer” is about Kanye West and his dumb “I’m the greatest rock star alive” BS claim. Loving it.

  2. HITNRUN is the title of the album. Thx.

  3. Nice News indeed!!

Has always been nice news about Prince releasing a new album..

Still fiend for a surprise Prince & The Revolution album, that would throw a serious bomb on today’s so called musician, & punk funk would return in full updated form.

1,000 Hugs & Kisses go hard as paint, just the way it is..

Can’t wait to hear the new version, as well as “This Could Be Us” continued..

Don’t fret too fast, maybe Prince is up to something that we don’t know about with anotha version of “This Could Be Us”..

Sit tight, & be cool, u dig..

Housequake.com, leave Prince & his music alone, he wrote it, it’s his, not yours, he can do as he wishes with it..

He has never catered 2 us, & he never will, & he shouldn’t..

He has paid his dues, give a near 60 year old brotha the respect he deserves, feel me..

Don’t start nothin, won’t be nothin, don’t get your site shut down, hint hint…

  4. Awsome / Thanks Prince !!

  5. Is the correct album title “The Hit & Run” or “HITNRUN” ?

  6. “A 1,000 Hugs And Kisses ” is an unreleased song from 1992 with Rosie Gaines and Nona Gaye. Does Prince ever listen to what he says. Why put this song on a new album. Prince has been asked about releasing songs from his vault. He said”been there done that”. As for “This Could B Us”, Prince has said, “Everyone is trying to sell what has always been sold”. I will still buy the album.

  7. Sweet !! Thank U, Prince…

  8. @music_man – duz not sound like a greatest hits package, per se. i dont know every song he has ever done but 1000 hugs and kisses and hardrocklover, i beleive r new. if he did a “hits” package, id think it would b a hard sell, as i dont even recall his last “hit”.

  9. Digital releases are great, free in the newspaper for certain areas are cool, fan club releases were nice surprises. Year long teases of releases really are cruel. But nothing beats a physical copy of new music on short notice. Reeeeelease it !

  10. Thanks MackFoo!!

  11. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!

  12. Oh yes! Bring it I was having a bad day until I heard this. I can’t wait im fully engorged. Thanks doc

  13. Sounds good to me!! 🙂

  14. I like Tammy’s idea about using Netflix.

  15. Yessssssss! NEVER too much Prince! 1,000 Hugs And Kisses!! So ready

  16. Thank you Prince*:)!

  17. I love this! Prince should hook up a one off deal with Netflix to show behind the scenes or a video concert from Paisley Park like he did for Rave 2000! This way, allow Netflix to have original music content streaming for a limited period of time. Let Netflix run concert for one month only then sell the DVD for the hardcore Prince Purple Army. Prince, if you do this deal, don’t worry about my consultation fee, just make that money!!

  18. I assume this will be primarily Hits and Remixes then if he’s following the same format of the concerts, could backfire is so with some fans
