Nice to see Janelle and Gary getting some shine on this.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Pretty impressive that Ron Howard is behind this. Perhaps more films like this will be made now?
D'Angelo dropped some new music during his House Of Blues 4th Of July show on the Sunset Strip. The new song is entitled "The Charade" and we are not sure what happened to the audio around the 2:12 mark but Jesse Johnson's solo still kills!
Although D'Angelo did NOT play "Untitled" he did play "Lady" which had the women shouting things that could have been shouted after the song. Check out the performance of "Lady" below.
We want to thank Cody aka darklotus69 for providing the exclusive footage above for us.
What do you think of D'Angelo's new song "The Charade" and the classic "Lady" live performances?-DocFB
Here is your first look at photos of D'Angelo's House Of Blues Sunset show in July 4th. The photos are amazing. We will have a full review of this show shortly and a few other surprises for you here on Funkenberry.com
Here is the first footage of D'Angelo's House Of Blues Sunset Show that just happened a few hours ago. Here he is performing "Devil's Pie" with funk legend Jesse Johnson who is in D'Angelo's band.
We will have more videos and photos that were provided to us shortly.
For now, dig this first look at his performance of "Devil's Pie" from the House Of Blues Sunset 4th of July show!-DocFB
With no introduction, D'Angelo took the stage at the BET Awards performing (Untitled) "How Does It Feel" and "Sugar Daddy" a new song that he debuted on his European Tour earlier this year.
His performance was the highlight of the night as he took the stage for almost 8 minutes. It was good to see him up there for real. No cursing. Just straight music and obviously enjoying himself.
Hopefully, the Doc will be there for his show at the House Of Blues this Wednesday in Los Angeles on the 4th of July.
Check out the performance above.
Did U all miss D'Angelo?-DocFB
D'Angelo played his first U.S. show in 12 years at the Bonnaroo Music Festival earlier this month and will now be playing the House Of Blues on the Sunset Strip on the 4th of July. Tickets though, will not come cheap.
The tickets go on sale Friday at 10 A.M. and after all the ticketmaster charges, it will cost you about $129.00. The L.A. Times is reporting that tickets are on sale now via The Live Nation mobile App.
According to Roots drummer Questlove, D'Angelo has 30 new songs recorded and ready for release.
Questlove said D'Angelo had recently "discovered Bowie and Zeppelin, the Beatles, 'Pet Sounds,' Captain Beefheart and Zappa," adding that the new works see D'Angelo experimenting more with guitars. It may or may not be coming out in late summer/early fall, according to Questlove.
Surprisingly, this will be only the 3rd studio album released by D'Angelo. Questlove performed with D'Angelo at Bonnaroo with former Time and Original 7ven guitarist Jesse Johnson.
Right now, it looks like the fireworks will be at the House Of Blues on July 4th as this show is about to be the hottest ticket in town.-DocFB
We are not sure if D'Angelo is back musically, but his cover of "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden is a step in the right direction.
It has the D'Angelo sound and it makes us forget about his drug problems, only because he still has that voice and that vibe.
It is over 5 minutes of a soulful groove in the D'Angelo style we haven't heard from in quite a while.
D'Angelo is set for a small European tour very soon and I can't wait to see how it turns out.
What do you think of "Black Hole Sun" by D'Angelo?-DocFB
Diagnosis: Welcome back.....
Update: Questlove confirms this is a demo, an old demo at that, and will not be appearing on any upcoming release. Since the song has been posted, the vocals have been sped up. This is not the version I heard before posting......
The legendary Kate Bush has released "Wild Man" a new song now available everywhere.
It is trippy. Most R & B singers can thank Kate for recording "This Woman's Work" back in the 80's, providing everyone from Maxwell to D'Angelo a song to cover to drop panties to.
The song "Wild Man" is quite trippy but it shows Kate Bush still has it and it still underrated.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Not Made For A Mild Man
D'Angelo, who was arrested for soliciting a female officer over the weekend for a $40 blow n go, is pleading not guilty to the charge.
He released a statement saying: "allow the American justice system to resolve the matter before jumping to any conclusions."
It's interesting. How can we jump to conclusions D? Were you actually trying to order a big mac from an officer at 2:30 in the morning and she thought you said a blowjob? Hmm.
The "Brown Sugar" singer was found to have $12 grand in his Range Rover at the time of arrest.
What do you think? Are we jumping to conclusions or should D'Angelo man up?-Dr.FB
